I'm bitter at the fact that the competition is being run poorly, rough-shod and by the seat of the pants, in my opinion. You're welcome to run the next one. I would love to, but you wouldn't enjoy it, and apparently neither would anyone else according to your evidence of past competitions. I've always been far more strict than most people, and when I've judged in the past, I've been criticized for it by the people on this forum. It's hard to adjust to the flow of the forum that everyone else prefers. That's why I'm disliking it, I guess.

That sounds like a Blue team problem. Red Team has put round three behind us, we aren't waiting for reviews, we're moving forward. We've got two completed works for Round Fou and confirmation that the Third should be done in the next couple of days (real life intervened). And finally, I've got three drafts running full blast on Round 5. This isn't an issue with the competition, this is an issue with your attitude. I only bring it up to give a reason why I think things should be delayed. I'm sure we can come up with something to fill the space, but when we're spread across three rounds, I think some order should be established. My team hasn't mentioned anything about the delay in the reviews, and like I said, it's simply my opinionthat we should wait for the judges. Then who is actually complaining here? In one post you're saying you aren't worried about your own reviews and are just speculating on how your team might feel; and then in the next you're saying the team hasn't complained? What the hell man?

Offering my opinion, and then defending it is crying, huh? Yeah, that makes sense. Like I said, I forgot I wasn't allowed to have opinions. I'm bitter at the fact that the competition is being run poorly, rough-shod and by the seat of the pants, in my opinion. It was fun when it was working smoothly, and when things start to get like they are now, why not sit back and slow down? I understand people have lives, and that's why I suggested we delay things until it works. I'm in support of their lives, and everyone's acting like I'm trying to kill someone. It's not about the reviews of my work, specifically. I just want the round to be complete, and I believe that reviews are included in rounds. And yes, I want to know if I'm better than someone else, in a competition. That's what competitions are. They're attempting to be better than the opponent and learn something even if you lose. I don't see the problem. And I think I see the problem you have with me, Zovo. Everything I say is clouded by "Tam is a kid, and will always act like he used to, crying and screaming when things don't go his way". But that's not how it is. How could I even prove it? Just accept everything and be quiet, so I don't disagree with you ever? That's ridiculous. Tam, I'm not going argue with how I perceive you. I'm willing to accept that you've maybe made the effort to change, but the fact is I'm not seeing it. Yeah, the vocabulary is different, but the attitude seems the same. The reason why we try to keep the writing portion of the competition at least close to the original schedule is because these things run on enthusiasm. There's a reason competitions start off strong and peter out over time; because at the beginning everyone is excited and pumped up and having fun, but over time burn out sets in, or people get frustrated with progress or real life crops up. If we allow the deadlines for writing to draw further and further and further out just because the judges are busy; that's just that much more time for real life to get involved, for people to get distracted, etc. In what I do for a living we call that a PPF; Potential Point of Failure. In any project you want to try to complete it while keeping your PPF to a minimum. Every extra day this competition runs because we're waiting on the judges to review and judge is another PPF. It's just one more chance for things to fall off the rails. So, we write as close to the schedule as possible and the reviews come as soon as we can get them. I get that. It's a problem we've had in the past here. I understand the way of thinking. I just want things to be orderly and done with so I can move on to the next round without any baggage. I think it can work my way, which is why I suggested it in the first place. I don't know if anyone agrees with me, and so far no one has come out in support of my point, but the possibility remains that my distraction is shared by someone else. If no one else agrees, then that's fine. Explaining why it won't work and saying no, as the people in charge of the competition, is fine. I'm not in charge. I will accept the point of the people in charge. I just wanted to voice my concern and issues.

I gave voice to how I feel on the subject.

You're welcome to run the next one. I would love to, but you wouldn't enjoy it, and apparently neither would anyone else according to your evidence of past competitions. I've always been far more strict than most people, and when I've judged in the past, I've been criticized for it by the people on this forum. Honestly, go for it. We've got the July Festival, but if you want to run something in September, maybe, then more power to you. I'd probably write depending on what you had plan.

While I am frustrated with how things are being run, I don't want to come across as insulting as I probably did. I have issues with how it's going right now, but since you're in charge, your word is law and I'll accept it. I just wanted to have a chance at changing things.

You dislike the way the competition is being run, even though it doesn't affect you, personally, because you have a completely arbitrary suspicion that some other unnamed participants might have similar feelings even though no one else has said anything about it? Is that right?

Is that right? I'm saying that I'm distracted by reviews not being posted and rounds not being finished. I can't concentrate entirely on the 4th or 5th round, whichever I might or might not be writing for. I also dislike chaos, so I want things to be orderly in addition to my distraction. The issue is real for me, but it may or may not be for the others on my team. In the case it is, that supports my own stance on the subject. If not, then it's just me that has the issue, but I still wanted to voice my concern.

*pokes head in to see why everyone is suddenly active.*
I...am on mobile, and don't have the patience to type a proper opinion with my virtual keyboard(literally the only shitty thing on my otherwise awesome phone).
So here's the basic. I'm with Agro and Zovo. Calm down dude, you're getting worked up over a pretty Tony thong.
*goes back to shooting and looting in borderlands ummm, happily working over my chapter one! Yeah!*
