It's like someone going, "What's H20?" and you replying that it's a chemical compound made of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen that's vital for most organic processes. What the f--How is that not more clear!? I gave him something he could google, if nothing else. Drall knows what Nonlinear narrative is, though, I'd put money on it. He's seen Memento or Pulp Fiction or something. He knows what it is. But that term for it is not more easily understood than 'not chronological'.

Well I guess we'll just have to let Drall settle that. What do you say, Drall? Who's right?

Surprisingly, Taed is right on this one. I thought he was kidding! I thought it was a joke! I even wrote it down in my diary, "Matteo had a very funny joke today!

So then, the only real rule is to keep your story between five-hundred and five-thousand words. Flash fiction, poetry, and sprawling sagas simply cannot be judged properly in comparison to ordinary short-story prose. It wouldn't be fair. Any questions? Suggestions? Who plans to write?! Pout!

I love flash stuff, Reffy, but it's really as separate from prose as poetry or a screenplay is. I wouldn't feel comfortable judging it to the same standards. Hit exactly 500 and I won't complain. ;D

I know, I know. Le sigh. Even I've agreed in the past that it really isn't fair to judge flash against short or poetry against flash.
Maybe I might. Working on something right now ... which might put a spanner in the works to be honest! Sorry!
