It's 50%+ of my enjoyment of the Arena. Same ... but I like Woeful's suggestion on linking some of last year's stuff to the first post. At the very least it'll give newbies a chance to see what's going on, how it happens, and such. ... I mean, I didn't link them. But they're right there in the board. You can see the word The Arena right above the Post Reply Box. I'll add a link anyway though.

Honestly, try to guess who was writing what was a lot of fun. It's 50%+ of my enjoyment of the Arena. I missed out on all the fun. All I got to see were Drall and Tam doing the most ridiculous impression of people who had already gone out.

You two were trying to be subtle with the whole saying you've voted and missing reviews etc. And it might have worked upon the mortals. But from my position as God, I was rolling my eyes constantly.

The reason for this is to preserve anonymity until the final round. Part of the fun of the Arena is that no one is sure who they are writing against, or who is ahead, or even who is still left in the competition. It takes a litle bit of discretion on everyone's part not to go an post, "Well, I'm out. Damn." if they lose, but there wasn't really any problems with it last time. Honestly, try to guess who was writing what was a lot of fun. On this note, there are preconceptions (not saying they are true, just saying they sometimes exist) of certain members who some believe they stand no chance against. The anonymity I remember being in part put in to prevent people dropping out mid-round for this reason. Or sometimes someone will put something up and after the fact want nothing to do with it ever again. It's easier to just bury it if your name was never attached to it. (again just saying it might happen, no individual implications) There are fun and serious reasons for this. Plus now its just kinda tradition.

The Arena was in essence my idea and based completely on the writing anonymously concept. It wasn't a matter of preventing drop outs, it was just a fun way to differentiate it from the Cup.

Yeah, I didn't remember the whole preconception of winners even coming up.

Has anyone sent Kwan and beginnings to work with? He can't start it without 'em.

I would prefer we get it started before MLK day. Whatever day we pick before then I can draw up a schedule for and go from there.
I think we definitely need more people before we consider starting, though.
