Has anyone sent Kwan and beginnings to work with? He can't start it without 'em. I'm planning on writing up a few, but yeah, if everyone who has signed up can write at least one beginning that will be good. I would prefer we get it started before MLK day. Whatever day we pick before then I can draw up a schedule for and go from there. I think we definitely need more people before we consider starting, though. Oh, I think we should definitely start before then. Maybe the 9th? Start on a Monday? Or the 6th if we'd prefer a weekend to start the competition with? On the topic of numbers, I don't think we need that many more before starting. One more would give us 12. Which would give us 4 games of 1 v 1 v 1 that should limit any potential damage from drop-outs. I'd like to see more obviously, but I also don't think we should delay things trying to reach a number that we're not going to get to. |

How many beginnings, total, are needed? And how many do you thusfar have, Kwan? Depends how many people we get. At the moment, working off an assumption of 12 people and an opening round of 1v1v1, only seven beginnings. But we should get more so Kwan can have a wider choice to use. |

I was assuming 12 people and 1v1 for the opening round. We could go 12 people and 1v1 for the opening round. And then go 1v1v1 for the Semi-Finals. But if we go 12 people and 1v1v1 then it reduces the chance of drop-outs leaving us with a dud match. |

Right. Seriously. Let's get this moving. I've posted a note about this on the NaNo forum but I feel we've left it too late to really use this as a recruiting tool. I also think it's probably a little too complicated as well. So let's just concentrate on having a great competition.
Are we happy with a start date of the 6th January? Then Kwan can start setting up a schedule. Please confirmed that you're happy with it people who have signed up. If not, then we'll aim for the 9th?
Also we need at least one more person. Where's Tam? He's the name that jumped out at me for not being on the list.
