I really didn't plan on the word limit being a hard cap or anything. More of a guideline. Like, once you go about 1500, look to wrap shit up.
Like, for the next one? You can go above 1500. I'll change the wording of the original post for next time.
If someone posted a 3,000 word story, I wouldn't, y'know, take points off or anything.

Yeah I'm just too distracted. This ain't happening. I'll tell you what, I'll throw up the one about the Godswar 'cause it kind of fits and try to make more of an effort next time.

Aw man, I got a solid idea for this last night, but there ain't no way I'll get it typed up before the deadline five hours from now. Stupid job, this is why I need a laptop.

I'm much less concerned about arbitrary deadline and more concerned with getting entries in. If it's up by the time I wake up tomorrow (I won't be awake at midnight), it's in. Similarly, I'll be putting the new one up a little before midnight. Precision in word-counts and dates is lame compared to just getting quality and quantity of entries. |

Two thoughts upon seeing the next topic:
1) The story I kept trying to write for the first one was about a guy dying on a moon because he had to be jettisoned in order for the rest of the crew to live.
2) You should have made it M-O-O-N.

Oh man. Everyone's going to have to recalculate what is considered a good score because Pete's back in the judging seat.
And yeah, I was trying to go with the idea that Tommy was completely in awe of his Nan; that sense of respect, fear mixed with a little bit of love as well. And also that she became almost awe-inspiring. But I found that really hard to actually convey. So fair call there, Pete.
