The March Challenge
Okay, so since the December Challenge was such an unexpected success, and since I (undeservedly) took the cake, I'm making a March Challenge. We're hoping this one can be EVEN MORE SUCCESSFUL than December's. If it isn't, EVERY ONE OF YOU WILL BE HUNTED DOWN AND BEATEN.
I cannot stress this enough.
So, right now, I'm posting a prompt. You’ll have till 11:59pm (US-EST) of the 7th March to write something, so basically four whole days. We’ll be using the same rules of the Monthly Assignment except the word limit is now only 1,500 (and I expect most will be more near 1,000). I’ll be a sole judge and score according to a slightly tweaked judging template (/25) and your scores will go onto the leader board.
At midnight of the 7th/8th of March, a new topic will go up. You have till 11:59pm of the 11th of March. These will be judged and your scores shall be added onto the leader board. This will continue as so:
RIGHT NOW - 11:59pm 7th March
12:00am 8th March - 11:59pm 11th March
12:00am 12th March - 11:59pm 16th March
12:00am 17th March - 11:59pm 21st March
12:00am 22nd March - 11:59pm 26th March
12:00am 27th March - 11:59pm 31st March
So that’s six rounds. The reason this format works quite nicely is two-fold. Firstly, if no one writes anything or only one person does. It’s no problem. We just keep the competition going as planned. It also gives a reward for writing quantity as well as quality because if you compete in every round then you start to gain an advantage over other people.
They’ll be two winners. The person who leads the leader board and the person who wins the most individual rounds (therefore sheer quality can win out if you don’t have enough time to compete in all the rounds). These two winners will go against each other at the start of the New Year in some sort of larger format, possibly an Arena type match.
Once again, if this doesn't do well, you WILL BE HUNTED DOWN AND BEATEN. That is most important to remember.
