Obviously I haven't read the book so I can't be sure of the accuracy but:
In Eldest, Eragon travels to see his new mentor, Oromis, a powerful dragon rider whose existence was a secret. ((Eragon studies with Oromis for a while, but before his training is complete he runs away to help his friends.)) The Rebels are being chased by the Empire, and are forced to relocate in Surda. ((Meanwhile, Eragon’s sibling’s beloved Katrina is captured by the Empire, and he will aid in her rescue at the beginning of the next installment.)) The Empire and the Rebels have a showdown, where it is revealed that Murtagh is Eragon’s brother, and their father was the Emperor’s old right hand man, Morzan. ((In the process, Eragon loses his sword.))

Eragon ends up not being the son of Morzan; but Brom (Obi-Wan).
I guess he tried to fix it, but meh.

You will feel empty when you finish, empty.Until you start writing that spy novel.

You will feel empty when you finish, empty.Until you start writing that spy novel. I have short stories to write, both of the fantasy (Collingwood Files) and science-fiction (A Time War) variety. Scripts to practice. Phantoms to edit. Places to submit to. And I shall begin what I expect to be the very slow and long process of outlining a political epic. Not a thriller. I'm talking literary fiction with Shakespearian themes and intricate detail. I doubt I shall write it for years but I think I'm going to begin the outline process of it. ... and yeah, I have that spy idea as well. I'm feeling pretty good about finishing Phantoms now.

So of my main cast there is probably eight characters. And I've just killed the third.
One more to go.

Due to the fact that I've already cut out two chapters just before NaNo started, probably 90,000 to 95,000 words. It was never going to be +100k, so I don't know where 120k came from? 80,000-100,000 is the general publisher's rule of thumb for new fantasy writers. So I'm quite pleased with that.

Oh, well, you've been working on this for a year and a half now, right? I figured you'd be...at least 120k.

I've gone four months without even opening the document once or twice. Then some of that time has been dedicated to outlining, backstories, histories and rules.

I'm sure it'll be better than anything I could put out x.X
