I haven't read anything involving Collingwood, but I know I'm going to love him. “No, honestly,” Collingwood said, stretching his legs out from the chair. “You don’t impress me. I’ve dealt with a Scandinavian vampire; I killed the damn thing while this man was knocked out. I’ve seen a mass-murdering bus controlled by a necromancer. I’ve been to the fay world to visit the deserted city made by giants.”
“Which was inhabited by a basilisk,” Vinnie added.
“Which was inhabited by a basilisk,” Collingwood repeated. “They were impressive, genuinely frightening and amazing. And now I finally get to meet a Phantom and it turns out he’s just another cocky low-life criminal trying to be something he isn’t. The suit? The posh accent? Did you even go to school, let alone a public school? For someone who hates humanity you seem to hang a fair lot of it around you. Is someone a little bit confused?”
Thank you, Agro. I had considered giving up on reaching the word count last might when I remembered your advice, so I forced myself to keep going until I got to the 10k. It turned out to be an interesting development and spurred me to think of new ideas as a result all day. So thanks for the advice. You're welcome. Keep up the good work! And see you at the 10k mark hopefully by the end of the day.

Oh man. Vinnie, Lawrence and DCI Collingwood altogether in a room. The three character that in my head all speak with perfect diction and accents. I wish this scene could last forever. And end of scene. There is much sadness as I now must write about my own creepy, hideous shadow-transporting unworldly monsters. OH WRITING FANTASY SUCKS SO MUCH!?

Love that 10 grand! I'm taking the day off, so I'll have to play catch up for the rest of the week. Too much going on today.

I saw you only did 1,010 words. Still beating me! I spent the day stalling plot >.> No idea where I am going or how. The fact that you even managed to pull this back into a win and get back above the target-line on the stats page is awesome :] By that factor alone, you've beaten me hands down Figured out how the fairies get in trouble tonight, and how they'll visit the Queen Ma'am, and how they'll eventually get back to their jobs. Most of that was figured out during the writing ... with the jobs bit finally sussed during the RPG my friend runs on Tuesday nights >.> She totally excused me completely blanking out to write wildly on a scrap piece of paper. She knew it was the NaNo-madness setting in >.> No plot is weird and hard!

I read through the staff's pep talk and I get this feeling that I don't 'get' NaNo.

Hmm. I don't know if there's anything to get. Seems like everyone does NaNo their own way; the people who write random things, write multiple stories, write one novel, etc. As long as 50k is the ultimate goal it seems to be all good. I don't get their problems however, since the only problem I've had with NaNo so far is but one thing:

As long as 50k is the ultimate goal it seems to be all good. And thus my point is completed.
