One day, when I'm retired and living in the grasslands somewhere, it shall be done. Hmm, I was hoping for sooner. You know, before I move on with my life, forget who you are and lose interest in reading it. Not saying it wouldn't be interesting, only that, unless I knew you "Thus Spoke Pete" wouldn't be the kind of title which would draw my attention without a recommendation. And if it was a series that became really popular, I'd probably avoid it on principle. Only problem is that I write fantasy. And there aren't many Petes in fantasy, so that title would be hard to make a series out of.

Ironic in a sense. Think "Boy Named Sue."

That's just it, though. The name Peter itself was not uncommon in the era, so it wouldn't give it that sense. But it wasn't common enough to be used very much (if at all) in fantasy.
It sort of falls in that middle ground.
And anyway, I like Wolves in the Dark. A whole lot, in fact.

Peter was common, but you never here 'em going by "Pete;" "King Pete of the Western Moors." It'd be like a running gag.
I dunno, I'd find it funny. In fact, my initial assertion that the title wouldn't be enough to make me pick it up was based on the idea that it wouldn't be a fantasy story. If it were fantasy with the same title, that'd certainly appeal to my sense of humor.

Congrats, Evern! And this, obviously. How did you manage to stop at -exactly- 40,000? Was that mid-sentence? Oh, and weebly about the same thing I put up in writing tips. I rounded. Since I wasn't done writing for the day yet.

It took 42k for me to go "You might want to change this." It was the tiniest of details, but still. It's an achievement for Kaez.

<Secretly installs NOS in his creative car.> I will hit 50K before Kaez. I already know that I'm going to finish before him, but that's because mine's shorter.

This pep talk didn't do tons for me. *shrug* I don't really -need- one right now, though, either.
And Evern... no. You won't.
I'd say there's a 1 in 3 chance that I hit 50k -tomorrow-.
I'm in an ultra-pumped writing mood right now, and if this stays around 'till morning, tomorrow is going to be a longggggg day.

Easy.
