I think we're due for another AWR competition. I was flicking back over some old competitions and thought that the format we used for the 2014 Cup (http://awritersrecluse.proboards.com/board/74/awr-cup-2014) worked really well. It gave people multiple chances to write and led to some really great topics and stories. So who's up for doing it again? For an idea on how the competition would work, read this: awritersrecluse.proboards.com/thread/4645/awr-league-2014-discussion-threadIdeally, we'll get 8 writers and 2 judges. However, we can probably get by with 6 writers and 1 or 2 judges. Let's aim for the higher mark. The AWR Cup has a great history: Sekot, Dylek, Meleta, Taed and myself have all won it. And I'd love to see us replicate this year's Arena which had not a single drop out. Let's make this a great competition! Let me know if you're keen to write or judge. And maybe, just maybe, we might even have this thing kicked off by the end of the week (uhh... I have no idea how feasible that is). Writers:Adam Matteo Sawyer Injin Inkdrinker Sam Sensar Dragon Pete Judges:James Pete Round 1, 3/9 - 8/9 Round 2, 9/9 - 14/9 Round 3, 15/9 - 20/9 Round 4, 21/9 - 26/9 Round 5, 27/9 - 2/10 Round 6, 3/10 - 8/10 Round 7, 9/10 - 14/10 FINALS

So at the moment, we have ten people interested in this competition. Both Pete and myself are happy to judge, though if anyone else wants to throw their name out there let us know. Also, it's not too late to sign-up as a writer! So put your name down quickly!
Right now, we have 8 writers and 2 judges. Exactly the same as the 2014 League Cup. So we can just follow the 2014 format, which was really cool. However, it was also really long... so if we get up to 10 writers then I think we should look at splitting them into 2 groups of five to make the competition a little shorter.
Presently, here's a proposed timeline:
Round 1, 3/9 - 8/9 Round 2, 9/9 - 14/9 Round 3, 15/9 - 20/9 Round 4, 21/9 - 26/9 Round 5, 27/9 - 2/10 Round 6, 3/10 - 8/10 Round 7, 9/10 - 14/10 FINALS
How do people like that? I've aimed for a compromise of rounds long enough to write something, short enough that this doesn't go on for months, and giving each round at least one weekend day and five of the rounds having the whole weekend.

I'm perfectly happy with it, yes.
I also think we should have an Inklings this weekend to get everyone hyped for it.

Writing against Taed in the first round... just tearing that band aid right off, eh?

I basically haven't written anything in a year. You'll be the one who gets to me before I shake off the cobwebs
