My count is probably going to be pretty static for the rest of the month, though. I'm planning with pen and paper and that's hard to keep track of.

I find updating my count daily helps. It almost makes me feel obliged to write 333 words just to edit the count, even when I don't want to write. And by the time I get to 333 words, most of the time, I then feel in the writing mood. Getting started is the hurdle. Once I get started, I'm good. But sitting down and deciding, "I'm going to start writing now," is still hard for me.

That's why I almost see it as a 333 Club (until you hit 10,000) rather than the 10,000 Club. More of a pretend obligation to force me to get myself into gear.

7,288 now. I'm getting real close, I think I'll get to my word count with the final essay I have to do this month. I believe I'll be writing three single space pages so that'll be a ride and a half.

Awesome to see people nearing the 10,000 mark as we come to the end of the mark. I'd love to see us beat last month total.
