I can't figure out what my epic artifact will be. Also, I may go sci-fi as well, is that going to be the chosen theme with us? I'm going urban fantasy. My uncharted river is -initially- the River Stour. Oh, the exoticness, it burns.

Yeah, but I'm going more Star Wars than Star Trek, if you know what I mean.

It would be hard to keep two fantasy worlds separate. Although I should elaborate, I may have fantasy elements mixed in with my sci-fi. Zovo's mention of the Rift tabletop books a while back has sparked a thought, and they will help a lot in coming up with ideas.

That's good, at least one of us needs to have a chance against Taed.

Going low-fantasy myself. Intrigued. I'm revisiting an idea I've touched on here before. Thought this competition would be a good time to flesh it out a bit.

Was debating something Sci-Fi or low-fantasy or some sort of weird combination, but the ideas just aren't coming. I guess we'll be seeing a return to my rip-offish underground fantasy thing. Now, how to go about catacombs when everyone already lives underground...

Neuromancer has really frazzled my brain because oh man, fortress-city and swamp monsters now seem glaringly obvious sci-fi topic prompts. My brain must run on sci-fi, because my first thought for "swamp monsters" was that of course they're mutants. They're so underground, the catacombs have catacombs and hipsters gather there for their collaborative drum circle every Thursday. inception.davepedu.com/noflash.phpI can't figure out what my epic artifact will be. Also, I may go sci-fi as well, is that going to be the chosen theme with us? Sci-fi seems to be the de rigeur for this one. I'm planning low fantasy/sci-fi blend myself. Maybe some low-key occult-ish magic, but that would have to be slowly introduced.

It went to the idea that the corrupted memory files of an AI would take the digital representation of a swamp.

I'm going to have to make a note of it.
Edit: Also 1,700 words in. I'm feeling pretty good about this story, got some really cool ideas in it and I think I've got some nice throwaway lines to help make the world feel a little more real. Let's give them a show, Zovo.
