So, the grand finale to be posted.
And, Injin, Zovo, do you two want to have a third place play-off or just take the welcome break?

I'm down. Got one more story in the chamber already anyhow.

I already wrote a story about the apocalypse, didn't I? I suppose it would be cheating to explore the same event. Perhaps another, then.

I know instantly what I'm going to do because this has been something I've been thinking about for years. However, it comes with great risk. Because I think what I'm going to do is very, very clever. I'm acutely aware that other people might strongly think otherwise.

We decided on this topic before the competition started! Don't blame me if you forgot. And Ink, I figure that apocalypse you already wrote about was actually YOUR world's genesis. Now you must bear witness to the second and final apocalypse!

I love the fact that I managed to avoid the buddy cop stories of Collingwood and Mallory (replacement for Vinnie) throughout this entire competition and now I get to bring them out for the final story.
I still want to write a novelette series of them solving supernatural crimes like the Sherlock Holmes short stories. I think it's a really great format for the modern world.

I can't start until Sunday evening, the rest of my weekend is being eaten by a crazy theater thing. Gonna be up all night writing a short play, then act in somebody else's the next day.

Man, truthfully I haven't enjoyed this competition as much as I thought (except from the first and third story), but now that I'm back with Collingwood and Mallory, this is where my world is at. It's never been about having an amazingly original and stunning world; it's been about giving a setting for those two to run around and get into trouble.
I'm writing this slightly backward because this is an event that has to happen after they've already been working together for so long, so I think I'm missing out on some characterisation just because it doesn't make sense for the tone of the story to take time to establish them.
If I had just wrote those two from the start, it would have been perfect. I've fucked up slightly from story #1, though I still think this is turning out well.

Figure I'm just gonna put this out there...
I lied. I'm not at all intending to sound like a downer, but I'm not going to write for third place. I've been in this same headspace for going on two months now, and I thought I could keep it up for another round, but I really want to move on to other projects. Injin, feel free to write and take third if you want; I'm throwing in the towel.

Zovo, my disgruntled Hawaiian salaryman, I will share third with you.
