Any room for one more? Like to get my creativity back into full swing. As long as you promise you won't run off and abandon us before the first round, I think I speak for everyone when I say that we'd be really glad to have you.

So, for the rounds what do you guys think about doing it differently? With an odd number of contestants and our notorious high chance of at least one drop out, maybe it would be better if each round was a pool. So instead of a vs b, a vs c; it would be a vs b vs c vs d. This eliminates needing to find another contestant or giving someone a bye and means if someone drops, it doesn't cause issues (like say, I lose to zovo, but he drops out later and I'm stuck with a loss against someone no longer in the comp).
It also means that it may be fairer with the round topics. So if Zovo is bad at the first topic and Silver is good, naturally Silver gets the win, but then Zovo goes against me for a mid topic and loses again. However he may of won that or "scored" higher if he was facing someone else. To me this seems more pertinent since the competition is judging our world building skills as a whole and not individualistic stories.
It does raise problems though. It would probably require going back to point scores, and the judges can't split the work.

But actually making that work out in <9 weeks while trying to let everyone face everyone an equal number of times... it's kind of tricky, TBH. I'll figure it out.

If I can't beat you at number of posts or in a normal writing competition, then I'm going to make damn sure I beat you at this one. Even if I have to smash your legs in. I'd like to see you write with no legs.

I'd love to say I'd write ... but given last years Cup and my failure drop-out. Not so much! Maybe judge?

Redemption, Reffy. Also, if we use that logic, then Pete can never compete again. This is true. More than welcome to write, Ref. Agreed. If I'm coming back from the blackhole of obscurity to write, no reason you can't write, Ref. ... Wait this is starting to sound like peer pressure now.

Okies! Writing ... and if I drop-out then I can blame peer pressure and not being ready

That solves your problem, Pete, doesn't it? Ten writers.

For the worldbuilding aspect, do you think we should post some kind of summary blurb for our setting? Or is it better to just let it come out entirely in the stories?
