I don't frigging know, man. But I can read a clock. Yeah, but you moved your clocks because there's this thing called winter. So you're on EDT and not EST.

I just had a fucking magnificent idea for the Final Round.
AND YOU'RE ALL GOING TO HATE ME FOR IT! MUHAHAHAHAHA!

New topic is up!
Just to make clear to people. I'm not asking for Harry Potter fanfiction. In fact, I'd rather not see a single story set in the Potter Universe. What I do want to see is how you build your own original story from one of the most iconic opening paragraphs in literature.
Edit: Oh. And I should say, I have a free weekend coming up so expect the scores for both rounds soon.

I'm actually surprised you scored mine as well as you did James. I wasn't happy with it. But thanks for the judging!
... kinda wish I had something for the last round... but GOD CONSPIRED AGAINST ME WITH A GODDAMN TORNADO!!!
...
Seriously. There was a tornado. A piss-ass tornado, but still a tornado.

Didn't think it had a sudden ending ... but I suppose it might have done? I wanted to leave it with: they'd only find bones and tears. That's the sentence the whole story developed from :] Glad you liked. It took a lot of thought and I worried I'd missed the mark for high fantasy by leaving out most of the traditional high fantasy elements.
Also, feeling 0 inspiration for the new topic >.< and there's no way it could be Flash'd.

Hey Agro, when do you think we can expect the scores? Oh hey. I completely forgot that I still had one round to go (well, one round and Bloodeye's final round entry). I have a test on Thursday, so I'll try and get around to it either Thursday night or Friday.

Full disclosure: my round 4 entry kind of ripped off the beginning of an Ian M Banks book. I didn't even realize until after I'd written it. Luckily, nobody here seems to read The Culture series ..... Which is a travesty. They're great books.
