Also... Who deducts points for length? That's not a scoring criteria. A story ends when it reaches the end, sometimes it doesn't take that long. Agreed. I think if it goes over length, that's one thing. Or if it feels too abrupt. But too short? That's kind of bs. And yeah I just wasn't feeling the starter. Especially because it was so similar to the last round in the December challenge. I saw it and I was like "shit I already wrote myself off one ship with blaring horns and now I have to do it again!?"

lol
Got a lot of sci-fi stuff this time around, it felt like. I really dislike writing sci-fi.
Really wish Chip Mannington had been saved for Thunderdome.

I strongly considered doing that, actually, but felt that given the nature of it it might be kind of a dick move to spring that on people in the championship round. So I plopped it in the conference round instead.

Knocked out in the first round. Pratchett 1. Yeah - it hurt. That was some classic stuff from The Laundry as well.
Oh, and the start for the Thunderdome? And the mud monster? And the conference table? Blame me :] For the first person, present tense, sci-fi, I figured I'd give a really tough one for the fun of it :]

I fiddled with the starter for Thunderdome a bit, but yeah, Reffy gets credit for that one.
And if it wasn't obvious, the starter for Heinlein was written by me.

Knocked out in the first round. Pratchett 1. Yeah - it hurt. Really? I could have sworn you were responsible for "hoarse whinny."

Hello there.

So can we start taking ownership for entries now? Because I was the dropout in round 2, but I'd love to know what people thought of my first round entry, and I'm itching to see if my guesses on who wrote what were accurate. Did you guess me? I MUST KNOW THIS.
