Well, I'll either post the victor "tonight" at 2AM or tomorrow morning.

did you get any more reviews? Or will fates be decided on the opinion of one person?

That's my best guess ... so a-yup! Heh Kind of makes sense, I suppose. We haven't got more than six people who have reviewed in a single round. There were only five reviewers in the semi-finals. If three of them made it to the final then that would leave only two left. And apparently both of us voted in different directions. But still... Noun disillusionment (countable and uncountable; plural disillusionments) A feeling of disappointment, akin to depression, arising from the realisation that something is not what it was expected or believed to be, possibly accompanied by philosophical angst from having one's beliefs challenged.

Aw that's really too bad. Oh well. Can't wait to see who won and who wrote what!

I had entry two in the final round. (Formatting got a bit screwy unfortunately.) I saw Woeful's post about getting laid by seven paragraphs and said "Challenge accepted!" Sadly it took me a few more than seven.

So can we start taking ownership for entries now? Because I was the dropout in round 2, but I'd love to know what people thought of my first round entry, and I'm itching to see if my guesses on who wrote what were accurate.

I wrote the only entry in the Adams Division Match and Entry One in the Lovecraft Division Match.

I actually wrote two pieces for the last one. The one I didn't submit was all about a submarine and had all sorts of military lingo. It was technically OK but my husband said it didn't sound like me so I should do something else. Whoever did the last set of reviews, yeah you're right. I ended up waving away the beginning so I could write what I wanted to write on my second try with this starter.

Mine were: Rand #1 Tolkien #1 and sadly, Thunderdome #3 Dude, you edit better than that. What the hell? Yeah, it was a rush job. I had a really tough time with the both the narrative perspective, the subject matter (blah), and the stylistic approach, so I spent too much time thinking about it, and not enough putting it on paper. I didn't want to flake, but at the same time, things got really busy 'round here. I relied on the spelling/grammar checker rather than my usual three step process because of time. Even then, I still got it in an hour beyond the deadline. It's frustrating that the spelling/grammar checker pointed out like 2 dozen mistakes that weren't mistakes; but missed a whole bunch that should have been obvious.

I ended up waving away the beginning so I could write what I wanted to write on my second try with this starter. Yeah, that's what I kept trying to do and I fought against that urge, a lot. That was a really tough beginning for me. Not so much the first-person narrative style though. The presented subject matter just didn't apeal to me at all. Had no idea what to do with it. Also... Who deducts points for length? That's not a scoring criteria. A story ends when it reaches the end, sometimes it doesn't take that long.

Who wrote Tolkien #2? Really curious who I wrote against in that round. Rand #2 was Evern, and I know it was Allya and James in Thunderdome.
Fill in the gap for me.
