Fucking computer. Got the maps all done, just want to test it, can't play it because the goddamn Modbuddy requies some MS Visual program and the fucking thing (no matter how many times I install and uninstall it) doesn't launch right. Says there's some component missing. Fucking waste of time. It was an art project, really. And you made it. And it's awesome. Playing it seems kind of secondary. Making Civ maps is fun for their own sake. No. I made it with the intent to play, if I wanted to just draw a map, I'd just draw a map. regardless, I'm one step closer, got into the ModBuddy, now I've just got to get my map to show up in the mod list... which it seems reluctant to do. The file is in the directory and all, but when I actually look in-game it's not there.

Oh man, I got a really great game going right now; almost didn't come into work today. Year is roughly 1400AD, got 11 cities, a monster army, huge incomes in culture, faith and gold, people who are mostly happy, 8 wonders built, a super defensible position on the map that has allowed me to repel full on attacks from the Huns, the Maya, Carthage and Korea.
Playing as Askia, and holy shit do his special Knight units stomp ass when it comes to raiding cities.
I'm actually wishing I had started another RP for this one, but it started out as an experiment in a different play style and I wasn't really sure how well it would go. So far so good.

I'll have to take some tonight; haven't been doing so as I go. Kinda just been playing with a different philosophy in mind and right before bed last night I thought to myself, "Hey, this is actually going pretty alright." Then I looked at the date and went, "Holy shit! Only 1400AD?"
The first game I played I think I finished with like 8 cities total; I'm not even halfway through the game and I've got 11. Just did some heavy conquering though, so I need to deal with some unhappiness issues and tile improvements for a bit.

Moved stuff to a new thread... since, though not an RP perse, it was getting pretty lengthy.

A hot seat game? I'd be down for that. Maybe Sunday? 8AM Hawaiian time?

Hot Seat games are turn by turn games. Essentially a play by email game, but one supported by the game itself.

I mean, yeah, maybe we could have a running game cycling around in the background for the next sixth months; but I was actually thinking to sit down and do a real-time multiplayer game. Maybe with Skype open and such.
