Yeah, if anything I think I'll have to make my goal something a little more realistic. I'm going to be having so little time most days to write anything. An hour is not enough for 1,667 words.

Yeah, if anything I think I'll have to make my goal something a little more realistic. I'm going to be having so little time most days to write anything. An hour is not enough for 1,667 words. John Creasey wrote six hundred novels in his lifetime, and died when he was 65. That means he had about 15,695 days to write that many novels, after you subtract the amount of time he spent not getting anything published, and not accounting for leap years. So, if you divide 15,695, the number of days he was alive and publishing novels, by the number of novels he wrote, 600, you get about 26. That means he finished each novel in less than a month, making him a NaNoWriMo winner for about forty-three years straight. Case in point, if he did all that, I'm sure you can find time in your day to write about 1,667 words. How long were his novels? Unless they were each ~50,000 words or more, your point is not as solid as you'd think.

I'm not precise on how many words that is, but it's not far from 50,000, I don't think. It might be a little more, even. Probably closer to 80,000.

Damn ... John Creasey making me feel like a newb! Heh. I found the "Over-acheivers" thread last night as well. Some of them have done 500k words in a month. Personally - fuck that! 50k is sometimes a struggle and this time I have a job.
Maybe another year I'll be stupid and try the 100k. I could do it this year as I have Da'anvi Dragons but again - fuck that! Heh :]
Going to get my word-count done for today. Nearly there already but keeping the buffer is nice. Tough day as well because we have clients visiting the office and I have Pharmatopia (RPG) later!

Just barely enough to be on track after day two. Lost all my cushion. Ugh. But still on track.

Fuuuuuuck.

Oh, man, I totally hate when I do this, especially when I'm fifty thousand words later in the story. Scrolling back through all that is annoying, even when you know vaguely where you mentioned it before.

Yeah, that's what I did. But it's still not quite my natural reaction. Anyway, 1000 words in an hour. Not a bad start for the first proper writing session of NaNo. I also got to the gym and the pool today for the first time in weeks. Feels good.
