Pretty lulz-worthy ... or at least interesting: whatever.scalzi.com/2010/11/11/nanowrimo-and-kvetching/Riding on the 25k wave. Still writing little sprints. Feeling pretty good about it right now. 25k in ... and I'm only really getting to the first real bit of the main-over-arching plot. Feels mega weird having done only Flash Fiction this past half a year.

I love that man. You should all read his books. Jerry Holkins over on Penny Arcade called him 'my friend John' a few weeks back and I got so damn jealous.

www.fromthemixedupfiles.com/2010/11/nanowrimo-writers-and-their-inner-editors/Brilliant idea! A little cardboard editor that you can jump up and down on when self-doubt rises. Wishing I'd done that this year XD Self-doubt has been a big issue. So, out of interest, who is still in the race to get to 50k by the end of this month? I know some of you are still writing but some are also not worried about the deadline. I'm feeling a little lonely up here and want to know who to bug (Joking about the bug thing - I am just interested. Seems we've had a lot of drop-outs!) {EDIT: P.s. Don't bother reading today's Pep-talk. It sucked and actually made me want to "quit" like he said! >.< After all, the novel I am writing right now will probably never go anywhere.}

The guy is an idiot. You don't do a pep talk with half of it telling people to stop. Remember this one thing if you feel your novel won't go anywhere - this isn't your novel. 50k isn't going to be published as a novel, it's a rough draft, a simple guideline for your novel. Add and expand and play with it all you like after you're done with NaNo Also, a little some-translation of his pep talk thingo, in my words. ============================================== So, I've got some stuff. It's cool. It's hip. It's halfway through. So why did I stop? I didn't. I ate them. You know why? I'M A MONSTER. That's right, IMA WORD EATINATIN MONSTER. NOM NOM NOM WORDS. TASTY JUICY VOWELS AND NON-VOWELS AND CURLY THNGS AND STRAIGHT THINGS, ALL IN MAH BELLEH. Quit now. Stay quit. We're all going to die. It's not fun. I'll never finish a good book in a month. Sound familiar? Are these in your head? Well, they're in mine. And guess what? They are WORDS. OM NOM NOM WORDS. EAT THEM, SPIT THEM, CHEW THEM AND BAKE THEM. SOUR SPICY SALTY BITTER WORDS. Insults? WHAT INSULTS? IMA EAT THEM TOO. Do you know what NaNoWriMo stands for? National November Writing MONSTERS. WE EATS THE WORDS, WE MAKES THE STORIES, WE EATS THEM MOAR. Is it hard to write? EAT IT. IS NOT SO HARD NOW, IS PULP!! Someone telling you it's not worth it? WUT DIS? LIGHTNING? IT GO BOOM! MAN GO POP! RAWWR!! Writer's block? IMA EAT IT AND CRAP FIREBALLZ! So, moral of the story. If the going gets tough, eat it.

*cheers* Yeah Ev! And I am really looking forward to buckling down and giving Jordoom's a thorough read-through. Only enough time tonight for a few things, but those two chapters there look amazing!

I have a problem... Kaie (the little pixie) has decided she's coming with them... but I don't think the book will really let her.
This is a bit weird.

This is a bit weird. ^5 on the 25k barrier being broken ... is it time for another snippet yet? Glad Kaie is getting more "air time" - I like her. Hit a real road-block last night. Smashed my head against it a few times and to no such luck. Need some more action! I hate lull-moments in books >.> Probably time for WW1 flash-back. Need to, somehow, give the present time part of the book a good "wallop" to get it to move forwards. Good news is: with no internet access at "safe home" I have plenty of time to just sit and write >.< {Edit: Pep-talk was good!}
