Dun-think the Harry Potter route would work - not sure. There is just something permanently child-like about "Bel-Gonows." Although the next sequel will have a War in it. I shall have to investigate the idea while writing the next book. Still find it odd that I planned it to be adult and it ended up being very young-adult. Happened to a friend of mine, too. Sometimes a story just takes its own direction. Not much to be done about it.

It may be the World "Bel-Gonows." Cannot say too much but where the World is set is actually child-like from the start
(Will find out more when/if you read the Epilogue - which is actually set before chapter 1 - just wanted to keep that information from the reader.)
ps. IF you figure out what IT is PM me - do not reveal it to the others. Its pretty unique as far as Worlds go.

Probably because I call about 20 different authors inspiration for me. I can't imagine anyone would be able to see a single one of them. You're writing Fantasy. Tolkien. Done. Now lets stop hijacking Reffy's thread. Tolkien Brooks Jordan Salvator Eddings Adams Heinlein Verne Joyce Orwell Heller Stevenson Vonnegut Williams Lawhead Just off the top of my head, all of those inspired me in one way or another. Were influences on how and what I write. Probably a handful more, too.
