Keep pushing, Reffy! Every story has an ending! Better that you get to end it than your eventual kid who will dislike you for not finishing such an awesome idea! XD
And I forgot to email myself my latest draft... Gonna be a long four hours...

Kid? ... Only kid I will ever have is my inner-child and she is kept quiet with mini-tootsie-pops and strawberries. Nearly forgot to email myself too >.> Bloody switching computers everyday is messing me up.

When you say "don't want to finish", what do you mean?
That you are liking it too much and want to keep writing forever or that you don't like your story anymore and don't want to keep writing it?
Oh, and I do have a new excerpt up. If yer int'rested.

It's kinda weird to explain.
I love my story. It has been a lot of fun to write but if I finish it there will be no more to add to it (just editing) I don't want to finish and not have anything else to write. Getting passed the 50k mark means I've won. I don't want to pass that mark, not yet. I don't want the fun and love to end. I want to just keep it going - but every story has an end.
I know I have sequel in mind - and a new world - but its my first book/novel.
Tried to explain it to hubby and he said its like getting to the last few pages in your favorite book and reading them extra slowly because you don't want to put your favorite book down.
Hope that made sense.

Yeah, it does. But passing 50k does not mean it ends. Especially if you're trying to make it a "novel". Those are generally between 70k and 120k words, anything lower is a novella and anything higher is broken into two parts.
Not to mention that editing is going to be -awesome-. You're going to get to sit down and read a novel... THAT YOU WROTE.
How many people can say that?
And believe me, once you read and edit the whole thing, you're going to be saying, "Wow... this needs to be continued, RIGHT NOW."
And come february, with the AWR-NaNo, you will write an amazing sequel.

I dunno... Sequel... Not sure if I'm leaving enough to do... Hell, I pulled this story together from thin air. The reason I skipped a whole lot of days in the action (up to a week at a time for the inter-system runs) was because there is literally nothing going on during those times, there's nothing to describe other than a bubble of red shift, smeared stars, and a feeling of not moving.
And besides, I'm starting to get fantasy urges again... But I should be able to stave them off until I can finish this one.

Meh. Mine is probably going to end at around 55k so probably just within the Novel bracket - but that's ok coz its not going to serious publishers, its for personal fun and family.
(Although I do still have a few things to edit in. Heh - not sure how editing is going to go - cannot pick out my own faults)
I just need to quit thinking like 50k is the end - there is more after 50k and it will be just as fun, probably more fun since I know how easy it is now.

I just need to quit thinking like 50k is the end. Yes. Agreed. Personally, since I've got the whole big Project: Fantasy universe at my disposal, I imagine many, many stories set in there after this one. Even if not direct sequels.

TDC and FtF aren't really related in any way other than they take place in the same world at radically different points in time. <Nods>

Mine is a direct sequel. I'll probably do a few books in "Bel-Gonows." Depending on if I can work out plots.
However, I want to create a new story and World. One that is more adult - so I can dive into the more violent and sexy. "Bel-Gonows" is too child friendly for that kinda shit. Probably still Fantasy.

Can always take the Harry Potter route: slowly make the books more adult as you progress through the series.

*ahem* Excuse me, but if falling cows is childish, then sign me up for kindergarden.

Dun-think the Harry Potter route would work - not sure. There is just something permanently child-like about "Bel-Gonows." Although the next sequel will have a War in it.
I shall have to investigate the idea while writing the next book. Still find it odd that I planned it to be adult and it ended up being very young-adult.
