The POV break may be reasonable, depending how you're portraying the story. Perhaps you gave a lot of insight into his own thoughts beforehand, and strictly kept to Wilem's thoughts, but abruptly stopped at that one point, and focused in on someone else. The rest really sounds like bull to me. But... <_< >_> *nonchlantly slides shiny coins into Kaez's pocket* ... it is likely you are to include those polar bears, right...? The scene she references is describing the physical traits of a character who had been the -only- character so far in the story. The PoV thing makes as much sense as the rest, believe me. >.< And polar bears actually are involved, or, at least one is. But they're actual bears. Not anthropomorphized man-bears.

Is it that erotic writer because I've been saying for a long time, she thinks far too much of herself and therefore gives out bad advice.
Because yes, what you posted was idiotic critique.

It's not the same one, but I think it actually is an erotic writer, yeah. ... maybe it's some common bond between them. They're all very self-adoring. <insert masturbation joke>

Yeah, I would just ignore it.

Yeah, I would just ignore it. I intend to. A bit disappointing nonetheless. *cracks knuckles* Getting to work on a map today.

Wow. Sorry about the stupid review. Sounds like she wanted it to be OP. In a battle-scene a good General would be up there with his men, not lackadaisically walking with finesse.
I would just nod, say thanks, and move on.
Also, looking forward to map!

By the way, Kaez, if you wish to use my nation idea, feel free to name it what you like.
Just as long as my name (or a derivation) pops up somewhere in it's important history or current powerful figures. >.>

^ The likely candidate for my map. The other option is: Unless I have a change of heart by the time I get home from breakfast, or if anyone suggests the latter between now and then, I'll be getting to work on fleshing out the first one.

The first one seems good enough. The second one's a bit larger, and could offer for a bit more cool things, but otherwise the first one will do.
Just remember Britain and Japan when working with large islands. If they have enough distance from the sea to seperate them from the mainland, even if just by a small waterway, they'll probably have their own culture and society, vastly different from that of any mainland nation.

They're exactly the same map. ... Countries right next to each other can have different cultures and society vastly different from each other.

And yes, your right. I've just noticed with a lot of maps I've seen that islands tend to get meshed in with larger empires in the effort of saving time, and to make the empire seem all the bigger. Besides, it gets the writer thinking about what the culture and history of said island would be like. This means less squandered potential in the long run.

My plan at the moment (now that I've finished the map *points to other thread*) is to work on a history/historical atlas. I think that was a big flaw in making depth with the old P:F world, that I was trying to make history by backtracking current culture. Instead, I'm going to start history at some 2,500 years ago and evolve the civilizations at century-long intervals and see where they all end up. That guarantees an in-depth, solid history and a realistic placement of cultures in the current world. There are only -one- requirements in the world: that Rosia is a major power just south of the northern fading-portion of the map. Everything else will evolve freely as I see fit and enjoyable. :]

Looking good, hoping for an awesome fantasy world to evolve. Also, my suggestion is that you hand it in to a publisher willing to glance at it, they would have more experience with fantasy stories and what would work and what wouldn't.
