Umm probly closer to the modern day binoculars. Each of the three factions have different levels of technology. The human military binoculars are probly like modern military ones, have some fancy features etc. standard ones just have the 1924 standard glass. Naraxans have just the standard glass for all issues and daezra use the same older style.

Primarily the stat system point distribution (me, mezrin, and faerd all found a way to get 1 hit kills soon as the game starts out lol) Which really wasn't so bad cuz there are still a lot of challenges...the problem was the enemy could do it too. Soo...we got owned. Anyways improvements are currently underway and I shall post the updated manual (and summarize the updates) soon.

Sooo, I can still make a badass UN Australian accented scout that rides in on a helicopter with a team of elite commandos to the theme song of Stormy may day by ACDC? (Also as our characters get better can scouts gain the ability to use smgs?)

Technically the current set up allows any class to learn any weapon, as all weapons have a standard experience cost to learn. However, many classes have a talent that will provide the same training for less experience. So a scout can get an SMG once it racks up enough Exp
As for the helicopter australian, yes.

UpdatesA new and slightly updated manual with some difference in the game play mechanics has been made after the recent test games to fix problems we encountered. The original post has been updated with the new download links but here they are again: Manual: files.filefront.com/Exitus+Sator+Manualpdf/;13378684;/fileinfo.htmlPrintable Character Sheet: files.filefront.com/Exitus+Sator+Character+Shtpdf/;13378689;/fileinfo.htmlUpdates to Manual:-physical scores now only get 5 points at start up, skills also only get 5. -All physical scores and skills start at 1 instead of 0, species and profession bonsues/negatives apply after the 1st point is added -Fatigue ability removed -Engineer and Medic abilities/talents updated -Gunslinger gained a new Bullet-Stop ability (a defensive move) -Armor/protection system revised to prevent full immunities against all attacks. Armor now has it's seperate armor points and protection score before wearing down. Simple system, read manual for elaboration (in the equipment chapter). It looks complex at the moment but is just a bit of addition and subtraction. Updates to Character Sheet-Added AP and Morale to the points near HP and Sanity -Removed one line of equipment writing lines to make room.

umm well a rough example : 3 4 5 2 2
yeah that was randomized based on starting info of one species. You can try to balace em or just keep them at 1 and amp up another stat. Like when mezrin amped up dexterrity and sight so damned high he got a critical automatically for every attack he made >.< hence the updates. if you need help come on vent or AIM me at formyinternetcrap@yahoo.com and i'll coach you through the process.

Another update to the manual has been made, mostly fixing typos and a few small details clarified that confused Faerd in his attempts to become a god (that or he purposely misinterpreted things lol). files.filefront.com/Exitus+Sator+Manualpdf/;13407153;/fileinfo.htmlas usual the original post will be modified for the new download. This one isn't really necessary to update yourself with your character it just clarifies a few things, fixes some typos, and adds a few specialist classes that don't even have their abilities made yet.

Yeah that's on our to-do list especially since two people are scribbling stuff (granted mezzy only wrote 3 pages i wrote 114 lol) but the wordings all weirded out as we try to sort out all the game mechanic details
