This post has been a very long time coming.
A Writer's Recluse is a decade old now and in that decade a lot has changed. None of the changes to our community has been more significant, however, than our adoption of Discord as a means of maintaining a more active casual chat.
There have been two consequences of this: 1) AWR is a far more active, constantly engaged community than it ever has been, but 2) The forums sure do look dead.
For anyone just stumbling across this website or any old members who've returned to say hello: a very large portion of AWR has moved to Discord.

However, just to make clear an important point: the writing side of AWR is still alive and kicking.
We plan on having competitions rolling throughout the year, as well as our traditional big competitions in January (you just missed it) and June/July. So feel free to jump in!
Also the Story Board is there for you to post your work and gain some valuable feedback, or just as importantly, read someone else's work and give them feedback!

I only came here to retrieve something Pete (this Kaez guy?) said about Tom Hardy nine years ago, and approached the entire expedition with as much apprehension as climbing into the Kola Superdeep Borehole.
