Seriously, though, it -would- be great if we could get a jump start on this thing but we can only do that if we know for sure who #10 is. Would having two weeks of the five weeks entirely off not be sufficient to accommodate your schoolwork? It's fine if it wouldn't, just, ideally, we'd know if you were in or out relatively soon as opposed to a few days before the competition so we could start planning and organizing with our teams. EDIT: I'm not your dad though so you don't have to listen to me. |

I have no clue when they are and they haven't informed us yet what they will be about. So I can't tell what week will be a bad one or how much of my time will be taken up with preparation. There is also a 15,000 word group assignment due this month and a mock crime scene I need to be prepared for around the start of May. I could potentially work in a round or two but due to the almost vague nature of my assessment, I can't confidently say I am free. That's why I said get back to me if you can't find anyone before it starts. But since I'm a sucker for peer pressure and you guys seem to be having trouble; fuck it, I'm in. |

Now that I think about it, subboards over PMs may be the way to go.
Ignoring judicial spying oversight, you're going to have lots of little conversations going: the initial planning, picking who gets what topic as they come up, offering feedback for each match.
The benefit of having individual threads might be worth it.

You don't have to decide exactly what weeks you'll be available right now, obviously. You just have to decide that you'll be able to write 3 short stories over that 5-week period. How about we throw in an audible option; where if something goes shitty, a Captain can jump in a write -one- story at some point in the competition.
That is, if someone gets sick, or computer dies, or surprise exams, or something like that; the Team captain can fill in for them.
