I do agree I'm not super critical of Taed's work because I like it so much, but when there's something I don't like I almost think that makes me more blunt in telling him I don't like it. Same for you and Zovo too, I think. Whereas with other people, I never sugercoat my criticism, but I try not to be blunt. Did you really not like that story? Aw, man. I thought it was hilarious. It was decent. I don't remember the last time Taed wrote something which wasn't passable. But I just didn't buy into the idea (I bought into Jor's remake of the Bible far more than Taed's remake of Greek myths from those first round stories). And he's written better action stuff, and better comedy stuff. And better joint action-comedy stuff. The tone never quite clicked. |

I liked the background ideas I came up with for that entry. The island in the accretion disk, the time distortion shield, the scrap metal bird rockets, the causality hydra, and the reality-hacking device. I was really proud of all those.
But yeah, honestly, the story itself I could have taken or left. At the beginning I was going to do more stuff with the baseline humans vs. augmented Demis interaction, and it never really resolved. I set up a morale problem and an inferiority complex that there wasn't room to address.

FYI, I've started reviewing. I wanted to go back and make sure I read all the early round posts I missed so that I can comment on the worldbuilding as a whole, so it might take a little while, but I'm done with Bloodeye and Dragon already.
..... I'm going in alphabetical order, so Zovo is still last.

I wanted to go back and make sure I read all the early round posts I missed so that I can comment on the worldbuilding as a whole, so it might take a little while, but I'm done with Bloodeye and Dragon already. ..... I'm going in alphabetical order, so Zovo is still last. Gah, if we were using real names I would be first. Darned screen names. |

I was always second behind a kid I was never in the same class with named Aaron Aaronson. It really annoyed me. That's it. Thanks for "caring " |
