I actually haven't had a chance to read all of yours yet, but I'll tell you right now, I glanced at the first few paragraphs, and the idea of a career storm made me say "that's so cool" out loud.
I have no idea how well you executed it, but the idea is hella rad.

Unless it's not creative writing, then it's reversed.

How you going with ours Taed? I still have nothing, I don't think I'm very good with super serious sad stories, going to need to think outside the box with this one.

Yours was the most creative in its plot of the four stories I read, honestly. You guys are making me quite happy. Two compliments about a story idea? That's a new record. Given that two of the people I respect most as writers are not only my opponents, but are complimenting my ideas...man today is a gold letter day.

Well, all four stories are sitting in my laptop bag covered in red ink. I just have to translate that ink into reviews. Should have first round reviews up by Saturday.

Tradition Reffy question: the next deadline for me is when? Confused especially as Z is now my judge and time zones are a thing.

Deadlines are the same, no changes there.

Hit a wall for a bit, before deciding to try something different than my original plan.

I realise that we never actually confirmed a judging format. I suppose since this is just 1 v 1 rounds, I could just give you some feedback and tell you the winner, but I think I'm going to use the format from last year. I generally like how that is formed and I think it gives the right amount of weight to each criteria.
I also hope a numerical score will avoid any sense of injustice in close matches.

Halfway through judging.
Quick reminder to people. I judge like Kaez these days so don't get upset if your score is low - it's not. For a general tense of quality:
< 30 - You've got some problems. 30-40 - A good story. > 40 - You've written something great.

Four good stories. Not much between all of them. But excitingly, room for improvement by everyone too. I want to see some 40+ stories popping up soon.
Also, not to distract you from this round or anything, but Round 3 is going to be a humdinger. I can't tell you how excited I am to see what stories you write for that round.
*cough*
But first. Round 2.
