Oh, god dammit. I was considering quietly ignoring this round because my idea wouldn't pop. But now that I'm leading, my competitiveness makes me feel obliged to defend it.
Also.
Holy fuck.
I got 45+ score from Pete. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say I don't think you have actually given out more than five 45+ scores in the entire history of AWR.

I'm really happy with my score. Yeah it isn't as high as I like it to be (I'm competitive as fuck) but I loved the review. I knew you, Pete, liked The Fountain so I was hoping you'd get the reference. I was trying to think of something I could do since time-travel or non-linear narratives aren't my style at all and I pullled heavily from that, listening to the sound track for forever while I was writing. Based on your review, my writing is exactly where I want it to be.
But fuck this round. This topic is either so easy for me it makes me hurt or I worry I'll go too far and just sound derivatively edgy.

I can only personally remember one other 45+ review, but I suspect there were at least -some- more. But yeah. I tend to be pretty strict with my reviews. Three 40+'s is evidence that I genuinely did think that those were three -really fucking good- stories. Kudos to all of you. I'm really happy with my score. Yeah it isn't as high as I like it to be (I'm competitive as fuck) but I loved the review. Based on your review, my writing is exactly where I want it to be. I'm very glad. WRITE, YOU TIT. Damn I've been writing poorly lately. Please keep writing. Make improvements as I give them to you and I -guarantee- by the end of the Challenge you'll be a better writer. |
