I'll take you <15 minutes. after thinking about you, Agro. All of them were fantastic. Something about these posts coming in close unison really made me laugh at myself. My brain is spectacularly uncivilized at times. Oh good. It wasn't just me.

I'll take you <15 minutes. Poor stamina, mate. You should work on that or people will be disappointed. Who needs stamina when you have the mega-colossus-pleasure cock!

I was pondering this a few hours ago. Although not starting now, I'm always hesitant about clashing competition. I'm also thinking we should bring back the Art and Poetry competitions too. We may rubbish at recruiting but we can sure as hell revitalise this place for the people who are still here and are wanting to write. Let's try to come up with a creative tournament that can be done in as casual a way as possible, to avoid conflicts. Maybe a -weekly- assignment instead of a -monthly- assignment? Then give a week to review, then back again? Fortnight segments. Eh. Maybe. I want something a little more interesting than that. Hmmmmmm.... Reffy did a Concept Art Prompt before. We could do something along those lines? Basically, besides coming up with some new ideas (which we should definitely do). We should strive to have a competition every month. So a Monthly Challenge for February. And then something else for March and so on and so forth. What we need is something active, though. Like the Challenge or a Weekly Assignment. A one round Monthly Assignment is from a bygone age, it sits there in the background and no one gets excited. We need something with approaching deadlines to jolt people into life. Also, after the Arena (or during, quite possibly) I'm going to take a tilt at the King of the Hill so we get that competition rolling again soon. HEY ZOVO! Fair warning... And yeah, we need to decide whether the Art and Poetry competitions would be worthwhile too. ... this seems like a Forbidden Zone conversation, but then again, more brains pondering this can't be a bad thing.

Why not just... keep doing the Arena? I mean. This competition format seems to really work. Why not just -keep doing this-? It sounds like an easy solution, but I think it would work. It'd just be kind of cool if we could come up with a cool little casual thing to do alongside the main competition whilst waiting for judging/etc.

I don't know. I'd certainly like to do the Arena more than once a year. Or the AWR Cup again. I'd really like to do the AWR Cup again with maybe just two judges instead of three. But doing a big competition every month? I'm not sure. I think numbers would fall and it would lose a bit of it's prestige, you know?

Problem with that is as the year goes by people get busier.

Problem with that is as the year goes by people get busier. There's also this. I think we should pick a month in the middle of the year where people have a lot of spare time (July? Maybe?) and then say January and July(?) are our big competitions month. Ready your armour and sharpen your swords. Then throughout the year have competitions that don't need a set number of writers to work (like the Challenge, which can survive off three or four people).

Then I personally say we follow this tournament up with an AWR Cup, not a monthly assignment. And once that's underway, we worry about the next month's. But we can agree the normal monthly assignment doesn't work anymore. I still advocate for another, small, casual thing to go alongside it.

Oh yeah, I don't think anyone would advocate for the Monthly Assignment to return. Should we go for an AWR Cup right away in February? Is that a busy time? Do we rob some of the magic of the Big AWR Competition? Do we wait till a May, June, July, August billing for the AWR Cup? I certainly think we can have some fun with a small, casual competition. Have a best beginnings round? And stuff like that? Do we also keep the Monthly Challenges going? Because they tend to go quite well (well... when I run them).

Oh, yes, I've got something ready to roll; just didn't want to show my hand. Also, just to let you know, in the event that someone beats me, the title they will inherit is "Tube Glazer." Oh, the prestige.

But I liked the King of the Hill competition and it never really got going, so I thought I'd sit down and write something for it if no one else does.

I'd like a Challenge. That seems like an adequate thing to go along with the Arena.

If I make it to the next round, I definitely won't have deserved it.
Gotta get back in the writing mindset...
