Eh, I'll sign up, if just to be practice for someone vastly superior to me.

Oh, guys. If I do write, which I still hope to do, is everyone fine with me still running the competition (generating matches and genres)? I'll be doing it in the same format as last time:
Round One: Unusual/Underused Genres Round Two: Genres + Perspective Round Three: Genres + Perspective + Something Else Final: Surprise
If I make it to the latter stages, I'll throw it over to the judges to pick the topic themselves and assign them. But for the first two-three rounds, everyone fine with me posting the matches and their topics?
I'd rather someone say they were uncomfortable with it now rather than once the competition has started.

Meh, I'm okay with it.

While I'm fine with it... why -not- just hand it over to the judges? To prevent anything from even possibly arising.

While I'm fine with it... why -not- just hand it over to the judges? To prevent anything from even possibly arising. Mainly just to make sure it gets off to a smooth start. The last time I competed and didn't run in it sticks in my memory, with too much similarity between cross-round topics and delays on the posting of the matches. I'm not saying Mel & co would do the same, but it would also ease their judging workload. Of course, if they want to do it, or writers want me not to do it, then I'll gladly throw the work over to them.

Give it to them. If they don't want it, put it to a vote or something. I understand that could slow things more, but I think it is worth it. Or, have them just pick the topics that you are involved in, and you still choose the others. I dunno.

Well, what I'm considering now is to get the first round off and running, and get the judges just to sign-off on the genres.
And with that first round done, then the judges can just take over from where I left over for the next three.

I'm fine with taking care of any/all of that, Agro, with Mena and whoever else, if you wind up not judging. It's not that hard, and keeps away any questions/spectres about impartiality at the least, you know?

Oh, we also need to settle on a date. With already 16+ writers, I'd be tempted to possibly have a crack at the 10th, therefore meaning we're done (except for the final) by the start of the new month (and Monthly Assignment).
However, since I said the 17th earlier, we would really need approval from every sign-up so far.
So thoughts judges and writers? 10th or the previously mentioned 17th start date?

Twenty writers now. If we can find one more judge, and not have too many (read: any) drop outs then we're on course for a fantastic competition.
