SIGN-UPS ARE CLOSED [/CENTER][/SIZE] THE AWR CUP OF 2011 [/B][/CENTER] Welcome! Welcome everyone to the AWR Cup of 2011! The annual AWR writing competition! A place for writers to duke it out and try and win a shot at fame and glory! … Well, and have a bit of fun, get some feedback from judges and peers and improve as a writer. It’s a joint venture between glory and improvement. And we’re being sponsored by Pepsi!* So for any new members, who haven’t seen the AWR Cup in action before, let me give you a brief run-down. The AWR Cup is a knockout competition. Two writers go up against each other. They’re given a shared topic and they must write a story on that topic. Usually you get the topic on a Monday and have till a Friday to post your story, but this is not confirmed yet. Three judges, over the course of the weekend, then score the story (out of 50) using the same template as the Monthly Writing Assignment. The writer with the highest score progresses to the next round. It’s simple! But if you have any questions ask away. Well, it’s that simple. So let the sign-up process begins! We’re looking for as many writers as possible, and three judges. I’m looking to write but if no one else is willing to judge then I’ll step up to take that role. And while we know life happens, let’s not have too many drop-outs this year! So if you want to write or judge, just drop a post here detailing your intentions. I don't know...its tempting... If you don't participate, so help me god, I will send you SO MANY pictures of vaginas. But my current quality in writing isn't all that great anymore. I want to, but I feel it would just go poorly. |
