I'm actually thinking about the philisophical meaning behind this God.
I notice that a lot of the Gods being done are of an object or element. They are, therefore, being made out of that object or element. That;s why I think most of the gods being done are humanoid. It's giving a personification to that element.
But, I chose tearing, and without realizing it then, chose a topic that sets me apart from the others.
As Zovo put it, tearing is the action of pulling apart. But that's just it! This isn't an element. It's an action.
And actions are less representative of form. They are, in fact, more representative of emotion.
And what is tearing emotionally? It's aggressive, decisive, angry and brutal. But, it's also thoughtless. There isn't purpose behind the act of tearing. It's... reflexive. Like an instinct.
I think that F is giving me a good path for this. Giving this a humanoid form, while also following in the path of the other artists, would also be an attempt at giving reason to pure emotion.
That's like trying to cage a wild tiger.
This being won't be tearing, but be capable of tearing everything in it's path. It'll be teeth and claws and hands, but nothing more. There isn't anything else needed.
With that said, I'm going to have to make my final piece an action scene, otherwise the idea will be lost.

You know ... after seeing your reasoning ... I think F would be better for what you want.

Kinda... poorly actually. I keep trying to come up with stuff, but I hate everything I'm drawing.
I'm hoping inspiration will hit here and I'll get a good sketch going.

Need any help? I'm sure a few of us could help get some inspiration flowing by batting ideas back and forth, or something!

Need any help? I'm sure a few of us could help get some inspiration flowing by batting ideas back and forth, or something! It's hard to describe. I'd say the closest thing I can really compare it to is writer's block. That's not to say I can't do any art, jut that whatever I make feels very shitty to me. Usually doing other art helps though. I've been trying to get the juices flowing with other sketches. So far I've been compiling small ideas from all the crap sketches and seeing what I come up with. But go right ahead and bat ideas around. I won't mind a little help.

Can we see some of the mini sketches? What is your God doing in the picture? Perhaps you need to look at the setting rather than the floating meatball? (Which is an awesome idea already!) Maybe he should tear something apart in the picture?
Don't doubt your ability, my friend :] Perhaps you are just psyching yourself out of the competition because you think that anything you do will not be good enough? You don't need perfection at this stage. You can always add layers on top of the grime that you don't want people to see later. Just a thought!
But, no matter what, I still think you are fantastic! :]

Dude! Amazing ... but I thought you were going with the floating meatball idea? This one definitely looks "tearing" - I love the action!

I'm not quite sure what's going on. . . Is the dude being torn apart the god? Or is the god the pair of orbs and spectral hand and such doing the actual tearing.

The main figure is the god. And I've been trying that floating meatball idea so much, but nothing looks good. That first one has been the best so far, ao I'm chalking it up to a fluke. I just have to figure out how to make the fluke happen again. Just been pretty stressed and tired lately. It's not very conductive to artwork.

Fantastic update! Also, that was a nice hug ... your bones shouldn't have powdered like that! It was a de-stressing hug! Not a distressing hug I appreciate the E-hug anyway. ... Just kinda wish I could get a real hug. And then a back massage.... Oh oh! And then some acupuncture!
