Races:
Humanity:
Humans are numerically the most populous people but also among the least advanced. They lack the durability of the Golek'shar, the skill of the Myhari, the raw power of the Dystarians and the wisdom of the Akari. Despite this humanity is a power to reckon with as their numbers and adaptability are advantages not to ignore.
Golek'shar:
The so called "Children of the Underneath" the Golek'shar are all but invincible creatures of stone, metal and life. Both the Golek'shar and Myhari have legends of the progenitors of these people but none know how much of these stories are true. That being said, the Golek'shar are ageless and should one be destroyed it can simply wait for another body to be built and inhabit the new one. This has led to the myth among humans that they can possess people but it is just that, a myth.
Myhari: The "Starborn" are not truly of the stars but are among the oldest races known to Tahris. Ancient Myhari are said to have known the creators of the Golek'shar and Myhari have very long lives. Some are said to have lived for ten thousand years but the norm is about two thirds that. Their numbers are relatively few but their military is the envy of the world, as is their craftsmanship, which only the Golek'shar rival.
Dystarians: Those who live in the Shattered Sands have only somewhat recently made themselves known. They are a cruel people who care only for might and tend to follow the strongest until he or she is cut down by another. Their history before their emergence is mostly unknown, except for the legend that they were once denizens of the Sea of Storms, exiled for an ancient crime.
Elharian: The Elharians are called many things. Demons, monsters, children of Korhayn, but they are in truth just very evil creatures. Every race has stories of the Elharians sacrificing people of all races for magical power or to their unknown gods. Most things about them are a mystery, except that their nation is slowly being shrunk on two fronts by the Dystarians and Myhari.
Akari: The Akari are an ancient race but only very recently integrated into trade and other such things since a human vessel found Akara'Ven by chance. The Akari seem to care little about the rest of the world, rather they simply wish to learn anything and everything they can about whatever they find. Akari are ethereal by nature so many things from eating habits to how they reproduce are a complete mystery to the races of Tselvrim. Still, the Akari are a people of peace, seeking wisdom. This is good because their mastery of the arcane is unrivaled and nobody wishes a war with such a people.

Magic:
Magic exists on Tahris though understanding of it varies widely between it's people. As does the aptitude for it. For example, Akari are all magical, Myhari magi are somewhat rare, while Dystarians have almost none at all. Different species access this power in somewhat different ways but there are definite rules that govern all.
1. Magic cannot teleport anything.
2. One cannot create matter from nothing.
3. One can make matter from energy in theory but requires power beyond comprehension.
4. Magic takes a toll on the caster. A mage can only cast spells he or she has the mental strength to cast. Trying to push beyond this is akin to trying to push a too heavy boulder. You will strain but nothing will happen.
5. Magic cannot bring the dead back to life. Magic can heal those at the brink if the mage is skilled enough but once death has claimed someone that person is gone.
6. So called "life magic" is a myth. There is no magic in life force or blood. Trying such things to bolster power is simply a waste.

Layout of Tselvrim:
Far West:
Beyond the shores to the west is the Sea of Storms from which no ship has ever returned. Some reckon this is merely Dystarian raiders but since the Dystarians have never been known to have a navy of any size the more popular theory is that this sea is simply so tempestuous that no ship can survive it.
The shore is near completely surrounded by the mountain range of Moris Sha which opens only at the Mouth of Tempests, a natural harbor and the only way to the sea from the Shattered Sands and several passes from the desert to the rest of the continent.
The Shattered Sands themselves are a massive desert which is the home of the Dystarians. Most life and water is very scarce as the only large sources of water are the Black Oasis and several smaller such places. It never rains in the desert and most plant life that does survive lives off sunlight alone, those that need water tend to make it themselves through unknown means.
The Black Oasis is the heart of Dystaria and is the only place besides the Mouth of Tempests where other races would find the climate remotely tolerable. The liquid in the oasis however is toxic to most species though the Dystarians themselves seem to have no trouble drinking it, leading to the belief that it isn't water at all. What might fill the Black Oasis and how it never empties is a mystery. The Dystarians don't care enough and the other races can't get there.
The easternmost reaches of the desert meet mountains once again, though there are several passes of different sizes which connect to the rest of the continent. The largest of which are under control of the Dystarian military meaning those trying to go in must use the smaller and more dangerous passages.
Far North:
Beyond Elharis Mykar, and the rest of Elhar Nekora is the Ocean of Mystery. Nothing is known of it besides that it exists. The Akari believe that beyond is simply frozen wastelands but it is mere conjecture. This ocean is simply what it's name implies, a mystery.
South of this is Elharis Nekora, which is almost entirely within Korhayn's Labyrinth with some settlements in Elharis Mykar. The Stream of the Dark provides water from the peaks of Elharis Mykar before pouring out into the Ocean of Mystery. More information only comes as the Dystarian and Myhari armies push further into Elharian territory as cartographers have long since stopped trying to map the lands of a nation that murders all outsiders.
Far East:
To the east lays the shores of Avalis'nay, the Kingdoms of Unity, Sairya's River of Tears, and the Serpentine River. However as the Shattered sands are miles upon miles of desert so is this not simply the coastline. The total space of the Kingdoms of Unity alone spans hundreds of miles, stretches near the whole viable coastline before the vast inland kingdoms. The two rivers flow throughout providing large amounts of farmland while the coastal kingdoms fish from the sea. The terrain is mostly plains with some smallish forests scattered throughout.
Center: (well centerish)
More in the inner continent lays the human nation of Anarsis and the Elestra Myhari along with the Starstream River. Anarsis exists near where the plains of the east end and the Elestra Myhari begin. The Starstream River flows within after leaving the lands of the Empiris Myhari allowing this human nation water for crops and other needs.
Elestra Myhari, despite being named as a ring is not technically so. In reality is it more a semicircle type range upon which the Empiris Myhari begins. Toward the inner edge of the range are a series of steppes which the Starstream River twists through on its way down the mountain range. Past this is the Forest of Eternal Night which houses the rest of the Myhari nation. This forest lives up to its name in that most sunlight never reaches the ground through the trees, leaving it in twilight during the day.
Moving towards the north from here one would eventually reach Elharis Mykar and to continue west would lead to the Shattered Sands.
Southern Reaches:
The southern areas are mostly mountainous with some volcanic areas. The only noteworthy area is Kar Ith Nekshar which lays just past the south western border of the Kingdoms of Unity. This passage is guarded by the Golek'shar and is the only entrance known by other races to the Underneath, which the Golek'shar call home.
The Underneath:
The Underneath spans most of the southern reaches though exactly how far is a mystery to most. Without a doubt however the distance is incredible. This place was dug out by the progenitors of the Golek'shar and as such the age and method of creation are an utter mystery. What is known is that the home of the Golek'shar is lit by lava flows artistically ducted in ways to ensure enough light to see by and that the forges of the Underneath produce among the finest metal and stoneworks of the known world.
