So I'll see you all in seven years time when someone writes something... You got it wrong! It wasn't FTL powered by solar energy. It was a ship achieving FTL with massless sails using a stars light as wind. How do you go Faster than light when you're means of propulsion is light? That's like a sailboat going faster than wind. That's like the worst bad science.

Man, I've got some good bad science in mind; problem is, it's attached to a story I want to try to publish.

I mean, you could always do what I do and delete the story as soon as its judged. Seriously, go back and check all the competitions I have wrote for. A good 30% my entries are now not there.
Or we could turn the board private for a week?
... or you could just not post it.

You're right, I could always take it down once it's judged, but I kind of feel like it -should- stay there just as a means of preserving the flow of the competition. I dunno, I'll make the decision as I get closer to finishing it.

So you were all being super nice and not challenging me when I was doing NaNo, right? But you've all got stories waiting now, right? ... right?

So this is when I suggest a prompt change...

I actually had an idea.
But I forget it now. So this post is pointless.

So, let me know what you think, people.
I'm thinking of throwing up three different topics, on top of the current topic. And then someone just has to write for -one- and post their story. Don't have to forewarn me. Just pick one and go for it.
I'm just trying to get someone to write something for this.

awritersrecluse.proboards.com/post/390058/threadI've dramatically reworked the prompts for this. I've now given a potential challenger a choice of five to choose from. Hopefully, that will lead to two things: 1) I tried to have the five topics be varying levels of content, freedom and restrictions. Hopefully, surely, there's one that might tickle your fancy. 2) I've given away a lot of the security of the King's position. I have no idea what type of story I might get now. I've only got seven days to write a story; I can't craft a story for months now.

I'm working on something for this week. Hopefully by Thursday I'll have something for you.

Man, it's going to be really interesting to see what topic you've picked.
I thought that putting up five would place me at a disadvantage, but I'm actually really looking forward to the surprise.

It's going to be a story about how Injin's first inspiration to write was that time he worked as a wrecker, using bad science and voodoo, to salvage a civil war era submarine in a Louisiana Swamp.

Okay, that storyboard is kaput.

Man, I have a great outline sorted for one of those five topics.
I bet it's not the one Injin has picked.
