Persuasion of the mental kind Swimming backwards, 'cross the line He failed the test 'most every time And lost himself
Conversion of everything real Losing everything, 'cross the veil He contemplates it 'round the wheel And loses himself, again

Pictures of a distant land Knowing that they're far from hand Whispering their soft goodbyes Missing our repeated cries It's hard to remember exactly when The stories end and truth begins But hopefully we'll start to see A magical country with places to be Though looking back I can't believe These mysteries my mind conceived And if I get back to the dream Will my heart conceal its seam However long this fantasy lasts I'm glad it did, I've had a blast

A moment frozen Forgotten for now Remembered tomorrow But no one knows how The first sign of weakness Is not only pain But also for trying To constantly gain In just a few seconds A whole world could fall And by forgetting the reason You’re condemning us all But can you stop?

Backing up against the wall Tempting fate to make you fall Knowing no one, watching all It's not quite what you want
Pacing forward, along the belt Hating everything you're dealt Leaning forward, you almost knelt It's far from what you know
Stepping to the side for him Wishing you'd be on the brim Of the closest cliff, your chances slim You won't survive the fall

Standing before King He bowed Sitting before wife He loved Kneeling before God He wept Crouching before child He taught Falling before death He caved

Like 'em a bunch, especially the imagery.
Not too big on rhyming myself (admittedly because I generally fail at it), but it works a bunch in these. All in all, great stuff =)

He watched the flowing conversation He heard the happiness in her eyes He smelled the sad anticipation He felt the scent of her disguise He tasted all these things and more
She watched the conversation flutter She heard the conflict in his eyes She smelled the anticipation splutter She felt the scent of his surprise She tasted all these things and more
You watched the conversation slowing You heard the anger in their eyes You smelled the anticipation growing You felt the scent of their demise You tasted all these things and more
I watched as all of you departed I heard the slamming of car doors I smelled the tires' burning rubber I felt the emotions none had shared I tasted all the pain and anguish But also the joy that I was finally home

If one dark moment Lights the way And every second Plays away And every minute Saves the day I'll never forget Your heartfelt sway

When the day breaks within me and there’s nowhere to turn I will find a new way to get there, I swear When the night falls upon you and there’s nothing to do I will show you the light, for this I’ll fight This is where I diverge, I stand to the side I bring forth the light so that it is my bride I divert from the path, I am giving my all I stand here with meaning, yes, this is my call
