The Making of the Twelve and the Forming of QarzethAtí had not awoken. To awake necessitates a time when she had not been awake, but time itself was birthed from Atí's thought. Atí, the Maker, the Shaper of All Things, simply was awake -- as she had always been, as she had just become -- as she was and is and shall ever be.
From her though came the progression of existence, the unfolding of reality itself. She did not hear, for there were no sounds, nor did she see, for there were no sights. She was alone in existence and sat for a while in knowing this to be so.
Her mind, so great and powerful was it, conjured thoughts never fathomed. She knew only solitude, only singularity, only nothingness -- and yet from her mind came multitudes, the full extents of creation, and the great Coming and Going of the world.
And so Atí, in her wisdom, knew that she would not construct her imaginings herself. Rather, she would only herself create the tools with which these things could be achieved. And so Ati breathed, and lo, she was not alone.
Azor was the First, born of the breath of Atí. He was the Heavens, the glorious Halls of God Stone, the King and Companion of the Maker. He formed not a space for residing, but within the heart and soul of Atí, and flourished within her existence, sprouting a great new force within her. Pleased with his loyalty and the glory of her Heavens, Atí smiled upon Azor and he smiled back at her. And together, the two breathed forth from the heavens the Son, the Second, and he was Bezhûl.
Bezhûl was the Void and the Darkness, and he extended out into a new world and a new realm that filled out the depths and the heights of existence. And Azor looked on from the God Stone Halls with pride and adoration and Atí, again, was pleased. But it was not complete. Atí and Azor drew breath together again so that the Void could be filled, and there was the Daughter, the Third, Haldíaría -- the World.
Matter and the forces exploded from Haldíaría. The elements and all of the materials from which the cosmos would be shaped were introduced. She and her brother and Azor and Atí had together shaped reality into existence, and for many aeons they rested contentedly in the new existence, enjoying the wonders they had created and cherishing the beauty of their gifts.
But in time, whilst the Three basked in the nature of existence, Atí turned to her thoughts again. And she spent long ages locked deep in thought, the wildest visions of her imagination rising and falling like they had in the first great making. Within her mind developed a plan, an arrangement that would span the full years of eternity, and she knew then what she now needed to do.
Atí breathed again, but it was not the silent breath from which the Three were born. Now there was a Void and a World to breath into, and Atí spoke into it a magnificent word, the long syllables smoothly spoken as though purely translated from the fluidity of her thoughts. The Word, the sound theat came before all things, echoed through their creation. And she called upon Azor, and he cast forth a great Spark, and the echoes ignited into a great uproar.
There before them were Sol'ux the Dreamweaver, Sithío the Learnèd, and Okabí the Wise, come from the Word and the Spark to fill the Void and World and see fit to the plans of Atí. They resided in the space that the Three had formed, and were thus less grand and powerful than those who came before, though they still wielded a potent force -- one that would be crucial, Atí knew, when the time came.
Atí called upon her daughter Haldíaría, and offered her these three spouses with which she could make the World more orderly. Pleased, Haldíaría first embraced Sol'ux with a careful compassion, and she gave birth to her first daughter: Aspíris, who with her father's spiritual guidance, crafted the stars. With the passionate Sithío, Haldíaría had another daughter, Nu, who was blessed by her father's knowledge and forged the Sun. And finally with Okabí, most wise and true, a third daughter was born: Mirasda, who shaped the Moon. Again, all settled, and millennia passed by the contented Nine. Once, Atí looked down upon the children, the culmination of her creations, and was suddenly enlightened to their potential. Her plan for the development of the cosmos was nearing its completion. Gathering Haldíaría's three daughters, she began to speak gentle words, so masterfully woven that they soon grew melodic and turned to song. Only now her voice was not alone. Azor, Bezhûl, Haldíaría, and the children's three fathers all sang in unison with Atí, and a beautiful song rang through all the world's creations.
Encouraged, Aspíris was the first of the children to join in on the song, and in doing so, a great force was awoken and Bôhla was born, winds and clouds churning in his wake. Mirasda joined in next, the melody growing ever richer, and behold, Joth and his roaring seas and waves. Until finally the last voice came. Nu joined the others in their greatest collaboration, the song sweet and good.
And then there were Twelve. Yhthrador! The Last Daughter, she was the rocky caverns and the high mountains, the prairies and the woodlands. And the final three: Bôhla, Joth, and Ythrdaor conglomerated into a great sphere whilst the other sang, and they drifted through Bezhûl, overseen by Aspíris, Mirasda, and Nu, guided by Sol'ux, Sithío, and Okabí, and crafted by Azor.
And Atí looked down upon it and smiled as the melodies gently quieted. "Qarzeth," she spoke. Knowing that they were the youngest, and knowing Qarzeth's fragility, Atí knew that her plan had been achieved. In the last melodies of her song, she gifted unto it an exclusive burden and gift -- life. And then Atí, in her wisdom, was silent.
