You could even wheedle the figures just right so that you don't make any money from it) ... Why would we want to do that? We're not making any money from it -now- Surely if we were going to make people pay to read it, we'd want to be making a little something ourselves.

Sure! Have it rake in some kind of cash ... but enjoy splitting the money between you, Agro and Kaez. I know the transfer between you and Kaez would be easy enough ... probably: Canada to USA? But what about USA/Canada to NZ? And you need to equate for taxes (which in USA are home-done) and who gets how much ... and the more you make the more you need to charge ... and don't forget how you'll source it out! Createspace has its own shop but you can link it to Amazon and make less royalty ... and it costs a little more to put it into Kindle type set-up.
All things I've had to think about for the AWR anthology! I know with Createspace I can wheedle the figures so I make exactly nothing back. (With Blurb you can set it so the money made goes as a charity donation instead - rather liked that idea! But Blurb is a little funky about ISBN's and such.)

See, the donating to charity idea I like, but I still don't see why you'd want to specifically set it up so that you aren't making anything (and therefore can't donate any of it to charity).
If you're not going to make any money off of it .... then don't charge people for it. Just put it up free on a blog somewhere.

If we are making money I demand some form of financial reward for my dream!

I have no interest in having anyone pay to read this. They'll pay you in the forms of revolutions you can lead. What about now?

I told you that you were out of your element in the trousers market, Matteo! I told you that way back when I asked for my firing pants and got THIRD DEGREE BURNS OVER HALF OF MY BODY. Now, look at you, lower intestine coiled like a spring, your waistband the color of my FIRING PANTS.

*painful, hacking cough*
Quickly, fetch magnets. There's enough stored rotational energy in my digestive tract to power Vienna. If I die, then I die giving something back to the world that produced my beautiful, but admittedly ill-advised revolution pants.

I just... cannot... look away! So much blood. So much horrible blood.
