Finally wrote the prophecy and the ballad, central bits for the story, and, if I may say, one of the parts I am most proud of. Those of you who know my view of prophecies and fate should be able to guess some special things about this.
The Prophecy of Luna's Children, as titled and spoken by the Great Prophet Tal'mori of the Rapta, two thousand years ago, at the first meeting of the humans of Toita and the colony of the Rapta Empire of Sal'kresh:
Moons shall rise and fall again, rising full at once; all three. And in a dirty southern port shall be found one that shall be hailed as a hero of an age. They shall rise, as an urchin from the sea floor, to be found and taken in.
Upon the next full moons, all three, events shall be set in motion that none may halt until a moment of choice. The hero, trained in all arts, and taught opposing ways, shall come together to defend the world from certain end, and a sacrifice must be made. The hero will forever be torn, never again feeling whole or hale.
The Ballad of Luna's Child
From deep within fair full moons light,
A large port of the South.
There shall be found a child of dust,
Who holds a frightful fate.
Taken from this city they hate,
They shall be trained in all.
From fear and love to war and death,
Their talents shall be honed.
Crystals of Moon the Hero shall hunt,
Traveling ‘cross the land.
Failing at almost every turn,
To achieve their goal true.
And when at last all hope seems lost,
There will be one last chance.
The Hero shall be called upon,
To make a sacrifice.
From this the Hero won’t recover,
Fading from normal life.
Only to be remembered in,
The songs and tales to come.
This is the sad tale of Tarra,
From beginning to end.
Their sacrifice must be warned of,
If they are to succeed.
