Medication
I can’t believe we lost Mr. Dave
To a mistake in medication.
In the end, we never could have saved
Him. He came too late, but we could
Have given him a few more months.
At least he will have peace he would
Not have gotten otherwise. No one
Should live sick and in pain so if
Its hopeless best for it to be done.
What he took would be quick to end
His life. He would not have felt it long.
When the family comes, the questions begin
To ask how we could make such a mistake.
He died easily, but that won’t be accepted
Because someone’s life was at stake.
I don’t wish to face them, will you
Take my place and discuss what happened
To their father? Chances are they will sue.
I need to sit, and remember the late,
And think about what just happened,
And deal with some personal weight.
