The Akha-Raa Royal Guard works as more of a standing guard than a military per-se, and though records suggest they have the longest history of any nation, it is not known that they have fought in any direct conflict with another nation, though their military has come into use against non-human enemies on several occasions.
Core Troops
Cavalry -- Most of the Akha-Raa is stationed on cavalry, daily. This gives them more mobility and a better means to view the surrounding areas. Likewise, during conflict the majority of Akha-Raa's arms seem to be mounted.
Heavy Infantry -- The rest of Akha-Raa's Royal Guard could best be described as 'heavy infantry', foot soldiers who use very large polearms, axes, hammers, or maces.
Additional Troops
Chariots -- Chariots are in reserve for conflict and would without doubt be a potent force during battle if they were ever put into use.
Bladesmen -- Bladesmen are the highest ranks among the Royal Guard, those stationed directly around the Qas im-Khadun's royal palace. They use large, curved blade swords more comparable to hatchets than longswords and wear bulky, plate armor.
Misc. Defense
Flamethrower -- Flamethrowers are archers stationed at military outposts on the border only, making them a rare breed. While they have access to normal longbows, they also have loose bows intended for igniting and firing upon enemy architecture. It is not known that these have ever been used.
Duelers -- Dueling is a technique with shady origins, often attributed to the mysterious Qir-Sik. It is, simply, the art of combat with two, thin swords, one in either hand. Though a complex technique, some have learned the vaunted skill and it is assumed it would be used in battle.
