Though the Rosian military has come into many conflicts with barbarian tribes throughout its history, its warfare is limited to exclusively the Winter War, which it lost. The shame of the undeniable defeat in the war has lead to an impressive increase in military recruitment over the past half-century and the Rosian Military has entered a new golden age.
Core Troops
Footsoldier -- The phalanx maneuver of the Rosian footsoldiers was far-and-away the most effective technique they had in the Winter War. Spears and sword combined with the effective shield techniques of the Rosian infantry to make for a mighty front line.
Cavalry -- Rosian cavalry is used almost as regularly as Rosian infantry and is a core part of their battle strategy.
Archers -- Rosian volleys made up a large death toll in the Winter War, and Rosian archers are some of the most accurate and numerous long-range fighters in the world.
Additional Troops
Knightly Order -- Knightly Orders are Rosia's cream-of-the-crop. These top-mark cavalrymen are highly trained and experienced fighters who ride in small, organized, strongly communal groups. Though generally not seen in large-scale battles, the sheer intellectual prowess of a highly-tactful knightly order is the premier unit for a raid.
Crossbowmen -- A recent addition to the Rosian military, crossbowmen were added to the ranks after the effectiveness of the weapon was displayed in the Winter War by the Kharnathian Empire.
Paladins -- Paladins, the gifted foreign residents of Aval Dor, serve as the most efficient and gifted field medics in known military.
Misc. Defense
Free Company -- A free company is a group of generally organized mercenaries who, for pay, take up arms to add depth and sheer numbers to Rosia's front.
Pikemen -- Pikemen are a rare breed in the Rosian military and have just come about the last decade, having not yet been tested in battle.
