The Magi are a race of demigods. They are beings of greater standing than mortals but are themselves of the mortal plane and can be communicated with by men (though this is not always a simple task). Twenty-five known Magi exist, but ancient Akha-Raa scriptures reference "the twenty-eight old ones" and "the twenty-eight ancients", suggesting that there may be three Magi who remain unknown.
Though there are many religions throughout the World, none of them openly dispute the power and existence of the Magi. While some directly relate them to their own higher powers, others claim they are but earthly beings with no connection to religion. To date it is not known that any Magi has been questioned on the matter and due to their difficult nature, many suggest that asking one such a question would be impossible, or would not result in a proper answer.
