I wrote this poem for our retiring custodian, who retired September 23rd, 2009. He worked at our school for 16 years, and was proud of what he did. .: September Day :. That September day, That old bird flew, Not once did he look back, Oh no, for that was absurd.
After all his years of singing, Noble years of catching that worm, It was time for that old bird to leave, All dreams awaiting his return.
And that September day, He flew and flew and flew. Not once did he look back. Hell no, for that was absurd.Lol... added the 'hell no' part for fun. The teachers enjoyed it, though, I think I could have done better. -NodNod-

In my life, I have never read a poem about a custodian until today.

Was it an assignment? Or did she walk up to you and request? Regardless, it should have been the latter. You're working a career up for yourself.

I -am- a little bookworm... hehe.] with my classmates, in a gifted class[For excelled students] and the assistant principal happened to be in there. Well, I overheard her speaking, and the year before I'de done an artwork and a poem for Ms. Schumann[My teacher], and she requested she see me. So, I spoke with her, she pulled me from class and I went to the principal, and WALLA! I'm writing poems for the custodian. xP Besides, a few years from now, I see myself simply as a mechanic. Nothing fancy. :]

It was good. Though I don't deal with poetry much. Only thing I wondered about was the fact that you were close enough to write the janitor a poem.
