No problem. Just as a little bit of help, more-so when it comes to actually getting down specific areas, but it still may assist you... nine.frenchboys.net/fantasyplace.phpI found this, a while back, during my Space Empire story idea that I sort of gave up on, and it really helps. Set it to 50, hit the button, pick and choose. Though once again, you may not want it. On a side note, apparently it and Blizzard have a thing going, 'cuzz I've had Ironforge, Southshore, Icecrown, and Stormwind pop up. I'll try and find a better generator for you. AWESOME. And no, the people who made it probably just play WoW. :]

Cool. But it's the same naming convention I have going for the northern boonies. Though I suppose one or two would work in the southern countries, I was hoping for something more like random letters in the right order = name

Hit your face against your keyboard. Then pick a number. Then find that number of letters in that new psiojdghooaihfgihasdoh and then there you go. See? Gihas, new name for you guys.

As I was just telling Taed....
As for the single non-human Upper Species, what I've got is:
They're an ancient species who once had an empire that spanned across the entire globe, and hence they are the only species aware that there are, in fact, other continents (or at least one other).
They destroyed themselves in a civil war via their magic, and the only ones who remain are on that southeastern island on my map.
They are the only species with true magical abilities (that is, others may have mind-reading powers or little thing, but no real channeled magic).
There are two groups of them on the island, each from a different side of the war, and they continue to have tense relations.
That's it. I've no clue how I want them to appear, physically, aesthetically, and am up for any suggestions.

Hmmm well I was never good at creating races physically, but may I add that these magical powers would heavily change every aspect in society? Those who could read minds would have a huge advantage over everyone else in their society, and would also be more fit for high ranking military posistions, or perhaps spies. Perhaps everyone in your society is assinged a job by what magical power they were born with? (( Like those with an immunity to fire would be chefs, and those who could manipulate friction around them to make them faster would be messengers. ))

(( Like those with an immunity to fire would be chefs, and those who could manipulate friction around them to make them faster would be messengers. )) The mind-reading powers were an example of minimal magical ability that humans may have (I have intentions on one of my Civilizations having a group with that ability). This Upper Species would have more traditional magic - fire, water, earth, and air conjuring, manipulation, and immunity. But yeah, you're definitely right. These kinds of things seriously affect society.

Yeah, I stand by what I said about being assinged jobs by magical ability. You could go as far having magical ability dictate posistion in society, if you wanted.

You could have a very select few, like the number that would be immune to a zombie virus, actually have the powers. They might not know it for their entire lives though.

Definitely give them a sort of humanoid appearance. Taller than the average human to make them seem a bit more imposing. I kinda like the idea of the double joint legs, I guess it would be called. Like dog's hind legs. Not hooves, but maybe three-four toes that splay out to keep the creature's balance.
Thicker skin, and maybe a higher magical resistance after having been exposed to it for so long. Eyes that are a pure color, but the eye color is random with some dominant colors.
Back to the height part, have them be ~2-4 feet taller than the average human.
Uh... that's pretty much everything I could come up with in 5 minutes >.>

But for some reason, whenever I imagine an advanced species, its always taller than a human... I don't know why though >_<
