This is the sort of thing that some people would actually find to be the high-point of coolness in the world, and others would find to be the low-point of coolness in the world...

Well, this IS a writing forum. I'm sure most of us think this would be the coolest point on the spectrum, if you were to make one.

Well, this IS a writing forum. I'm sure most of us think this would be the coolest point on the spectrum, if you were to make one. Yeahhh, basically. XD Anyway, it may look like I'm not updating a lot today, but I am! From here on, a lot of the work is time-consuming and behind-the-scenes. I'm not going to post it until I've got a good bit of it worth posting. Today, I've figured out the alignment, domain, location, rank, and physical appearance of every one of the fifty demigods, along with preparing 50 half-inch by half-inch squares for making their symbols in. I'll hopefully get started on that later today.

You inspire me, Kaez. Even if I probably won't do anything with that inspiration that's worth anything, I just want to let you know you're inspiring!

That really means a lot coming from someone who puts out stuff of the quality of the GoW story. EDIT: Also, made all those symbols. Literally uploaded -fifty- images to my photobucket at once. Going to update that deities thread with a lot in an hour or two.

UPDATE!
The demigods have all been given some details and their symbols. I'll slowly work my way through their information over time.
And the first two languages of Terria are up. They're simplistic, gruntish languages -- but that's how the early languages for humans should be, I think. A question I expect to get is: why are the civilizations labeled by their colors and why did language come before anything else?
Well, basically, you need language to name -anything-. I can't name the mountains, the animals, the people, or anything at all until I know what language the people in the area are speaking in. I'm not going to have people who don't use the sound 'ah' calling cats, 'cats'. They'll call them something realistic for their language -- and I'll name the creature that for now on.
So now that I've got those languages, I'm free to actually start naming things and getting into the ecosystem and history of Terria and the humans!
Sometime early tomorrow I'll get to working on all of that. I'm not going to start on the languages of the Kahun and Kahara until thursday or friday when I'll be able to talk with a friend of mine who has a much larger knowledge of linguistics than I. With his help, I'll hopefully make their languages particularly foreign to the human ear.

Working on the culture of the first civilization in Terria. Some of it's up now -- and it's going to be progressively updated through the rest of the day.
Also, got the 'Creatures' page up and added the first few significant ones.

I put the world onto a real world map to get a good reference of the size and temperature of things. Ignore the temperatures of Europe. The Gulf Stream makes it a lot warmer than its North American and Asian counterparts. Just focus on the North American temperatures. Physical size. This is going to let me make a map with an actual, working scale! Very cool.

History for two more human civilizations are up, along with some creatures.
The histories are briefer, yes, but intentionally so. This early on, only one civilization is truly advanced enough to be given a particularly detailed history, the rest just tend to reference it.

Will we be seeing a return of Dranada? If language allows it, I'll name something or another 'Dranada', yeah.

ALRIGHT GUYS GOT SOME NEWS:
It's good news and it's bad news, depending on how you look at it.
GOOD NEWS: This is turning out awesome. In every way, this is looking like it's going to be a bucketful of amazing and glory and I'm super excited.
EVEN BETTER NEWS: That means I'll likely be writing a story in it for NaNo.
BAD NEWS: It also means I need to, because of rare possibility, keep this thing locked down and sealed. Which means I'm going to have to take it down.
I'm not going to take it -completely- down. I'm going to continue to provide a lot of cool stuff and constantly be updating this with interesting updates and such. But basically... yeah, this is starting to become too big for me to just post openly on the interwebz just yet.
So it'll stay up for the rest of the night, but it's coming down in the AM.
Sorry, guys. It's good news but... it kind of isn't, I know. =/
