I should try that. Could start with my current game. Civ games make great stories. You don't tell someone, "Yeah, I beat Russia." You tell someone, "Russia was weakened from a recent war with Denmark and still frail. I deployed a navy across the sea and crossed the Rockies and started picking off Russian outcrops until I surrounded Moscow." You make it into a story in your head. Why not make it into a big dramatic yarn on AWR. Like Total War. ... /flee

Just sort of our normal bullshitting about videogames, but more in-depth and prose-like. Telling the epic stories of our campaigns. Nothing that takes itself too seriously.

I've always thought it'd be interesting to try an AWR succession game. You know, where somebody plays for ten turns, posts the save, next person up plays ten turns, and so on.

I'm not a huge fan of Marathon, honestly. Feels like it takes entirely too damn long to do anything.
Generally go for "Long" games instead. "Quick" if I'm just starting in the Industrial Age to crack some heads.

When Gods & Kings comes out (that's, uh... tomorrow? or sometime very soon?) let's just make a Civ thread. I'd love that. I like talking about my games of Civ with epic language. Dramatizing the whole affair. Doesn't Civ V have multiplayer? How deos that work in a turn based game? Is it somehting we could all play together? I need to get some practice in, though... I never seem to advance my civilization as quickly as the timeline.

Gandhi just learned a valuable lesson about extending his borders across other peoples trade routes.

It plays more like an RTS than a turn based 4X and I think they only recently added in unit animations.

From what little multiplayer I've done I would say its okay. I hear reports of it being buggy though.

Started a Arabian game, I'm stuck between Suleiman and Genghis on our own continent. But I seem to have the upper hand with three cities to their two and and a healthy source of income with me owning that money mountain and two Wonders.
