Pete may have just stubbed his toe before reading.

I'm currently away from my computer, but reviews, winners, and starters for the next round will all be posted tonight.

After Kwan's cheerleading of it... I was expecting a little more for the Thunderdome starter.

I think he said he would use it whether or not Kaez was in the final? Shrug.

A-yup! I thought I found somebody and then turned out I was probably wrong. No idea who the final lot are!

I'm actually a little confused by it. It's descriptive and a good starter, don't get me wrong, but on the third reading I still don't understand what the heck the elf is saying. Am I being dense this morning?

Am I being dense this morning? Glad it isn't just me! I think the elf is being insulting but this could be my preconception of elves getting in the way. Looking forward to the stories. This round could be quite amusing to read.

The beginning is the one I submitted. James does not approve. That's okay. I'm actually a little confused by it. It's descriptive and a good starter, don't get me wrong, but on the third reading I still don't understand what the heck the elf is saying. Am I being dense this morning? Dwarves characteristically live under mountains, i.e. sunless lands. The elf's remark is mocking the brutishness and lack of subtlety of Dwarves (that is, that their armies would be 'announced' by their drunken belches). Thought it read pretty easily, though it was intended to be fairly over-the-top. My bad.
