Oh! Come on, Agro! >.< You know I wanted to face Zovo or you! Not Manny >.< (No offence babes ... just they are personal challenges for me) Feel a little let down by my story. Alright, so the inspiration did come from Metallica's "One" but no other ideas were cropping up. I hoped my version wouldn't be too close to the other two versions and still interesting enough. Sorry it wasn't very original >.<  I did debate about continuing the story so you can see him get killed but that wasn't the impact I was aiming for. The impact was the slab of meat bit and going against human nature. If I carried on to the actual killing I feel it would have lagged a little and gotten boring what with euthanasia bullcrap and legalities. |

Just throwing this out there, as I haven't even read your story to know exactly what you did: Metallica's 'One' is actually based on a novel called Johnny Got His Gun. So if there's anything you're taking inspiration from, it's said novel. |

You could argue that, Kaezy, yes ... but I have never read the novel Johnny Got His Gun ... so calling it that would be stupid, no? I can only claim that my inspiration came from the song, which came from the novel. I still feel like it was a cop-out >.< but it was the only idea I had. I'm sure Ali would have won if she'd entered something. T'was pretty fail ... and coz I scored so horribly I don't get to write against Zovo or Agro but Manny (again, no offence chicky but I had my hopes set on those two!) |

Seems to me a bit like someone who has never read Lord of the Rings but who was inspired by the movies saying, "My inspiration was Peter Jackson" instead of "My inspiration was Tolkien". But are you going to give up any chance of winning at all? You never really know if and when an idea might come, after all. So no matter how the last entry fared, it has no relation to the chances of winning your next round, not unless you allow yourself to be defeated by believing you're about to lose. And to be honest, it wasn't all that bad as a tragic story, just that the idea needed to be fresh. |

It was completely a factor of scores, the seed system and the only close-to-fair way we judges could come up with to ensure this round remained a Semi-Final, and not a Final 1 v 1 v 1 unscheduled death match. And if you want to face either Zovo or Agro, well... *shrugs* Either one of them, at any given time, compete in the monthly assignments quite regularly? Besides, think of it this way - Manny thus far, has already outscored Drall, Kaez and Agro. As far as 'personal challenges' go? Oh, I think you have a really, really good one here. Now... get to writing!  ( And no, Kaez, cross my heart - Wolfeh didn't steal my account! For some reason, that smilie's just really awesome, and... XD ) |

I know its down to scores (which is why I hate the "One" entry even more). I was appealing to Agro coz he mentioned the topics a page back ... I hoped (as one Brit to another) that he might twist it for me >.> Never know if you don't try! Heh. I know Manny is -REALLY- good competition, having out scored everybody in every round ... but its not Zovo <childish-throws-toys-out-pram!> I'm soooo never going to win against Manny either! (Not that I'd stand a chance against Zovo/Agro either) ... just >.> bleh! XD And the assignment is nothing like going toe-to-toe with another writer. Its more relaxed and weeny. This is balls-to-the-wall.  I'm avoiding thinking of a story at this point. Stay and chat ... I have no idea what to write! >.< |
