I guess I should be thankful I have Third Person, though...

The Manchurian Candidate would be a political thriller, right? Just trying to stake out the borders of the genre before I start brainstorming. I'm tempted to twist it into sci-fi again just to screw with you. I could do marvelous things with a galactic parliament.

I don't think it has to be modern or anything.
I think I may got with Fantasy, because I feel comfortable that way.

JFK is another obvious one -- which even mixes with Legal Thriller in some ways. Munich and All the President's Men are two that wikipedia mentions.

I think Taed should write about a galactic parliament . . . a lot more thrilling choices through that medium.

"So this is how democracy dies? With thunderous applause?" That was fucking Jar-Jar Binks' fault! He voted him in! The Gungans are the secret lords of the Sith!

I would say that the answer here is very similar to what I told NotAlice in regards to detective stories. Politics are politics, regardless of the setting.

In 3rd Omni can I jump between characters?
Edit: Meaning I have an idea but I think it needs more than one character.

Third Omni means you know what multiple characters are thinking, while in Third Limited, you would only know what one character is thinking. That is, "John was certain, but Jane was less sure." is Third Omni. You're the god perspective.

So 1984 would also be a political thriller, right? But something like a John Grisham novel or, say, A Few Good Men, would be a legal drama, right?

But something like a John Grisham novel or, say, A Few Good Men, would be a legal drama, right? 1984 is a different-than-usual political thriller, but yeah, I suppose it could be called that. A Few Good Men is definitely more courtroom than anything, so legal sounds about right.
